Ravens 24 vs 26 Steelers summary, stats, score and highlights | NFL Week 18

Here is the playoff bracket that will begin next Saturday and end in San Francisco on February 8th. The Steelers will head to Houston to take on the Texans in the Wild Card round. 

Tyler Loop was brought in to Baltimore after the Ravens parted ways with long time kicker Justin Tucker. He had the game and the playoffs at his feet, but he missed the 44 yard field goal. The Steelers win. Ravens go home. What a game to end the regular season. If this is a preview of what's to come, then I think we are all in for a show. 

On 4th and 7, Jackson hit Isaiah Likely with this incredible pitch and catch to not only keep BAL alive, but to put them deep in field goal range. 

With 2:20 to go and no timeouts, the Steelers got the ball back at the 40 and Rodgers connected on a couple of big passes but none bigger than this TD pass to Calvin Austin to give the Steelers a 26-24 lead with just under a minute left in the season. Chris Boswell missed the PAT, which opened the door for BAL to win it with a field goal, and Boswell made the Steele City sweat until the final buzzer 

On 3rd and 1 with just over 2:00 to go, it was Lamar Jackson finding Zay Flowers on another wide open pass that he took 63 yards to the house to give BAL a four point lead. 

Down in the 4th quarter, Aaron Rodgers took the keys to the car and drove the Steelers down the field and it was Gainwell who punched it into the end zone to give the Steelers a three point lead with under 4:00 to go. 

Lamar Jackson showed he's still got plenty of magic in the tank on this incredible escape from the pocket and deep shot down the field for a wide open Zay Flowers. 

Momentum was in full favor of the Steelers just a few plays after their TD, when TJ Watt, who came back for this huge game less than a month after suffering a collapsed lung and picked off this tipped pass from Lamar Jackson. PIT would kick a field goal after the turnover, and this play seemed to set off the fireworks at Acrisure Stadium. 

The Steelers took control of time of possession in the 3rd quarter, and they tied up the game with a Connor Heyward tush push midway through the third quarter. 

The Steelers finally had a chance to get into the end zone on the final play of the first half, but Kenneth Gainwell was stopped short of the end zone as the clock ran out. 

The Steelers couldn't really get any thing going in the first half and on a 4th down play for PIT, it was the Baltimore defense that came up with the game's first big stop. 

It was the last game of the NFL regular season and they saved the best for last. The Pittsburgh Steelers and the Baltimore Ravens just gave us an instant classic and the Steelers just barely held on to win the AFC North and book the final playoff spot.

It was the Ravens who took the lead first after Derrick Henry ripped off a first play run that went for big yards. A few plays later it Lamar Jackson finding Devontez Walker on 4th down for the game's first score and the only TD of the first half.

The Steelers finally started to click, but they ran out of time on the final play of the 2nd quarter. Rodgers has 98 yards on 15/25 passing but he is also the top rusher accounting for half of PIT's rushing yards with 20.

The Steelers had some trouble getting the ball moving, but had a 4th down and short and went for it and the Baltimore defense came up with the huge stop. 

The Ravens came out and had Derrick Henry rip a long run on the first play of the game, and then on 4th down Lamar Jackson found Walker for the 37 yard TD pass!

Jackson is 4/6 for 59 yards, while Henry has 112 yards on 15 carries. 

The Ravens come up with a big stop on the final play of the half to go into the break with all the momentum!

Tomlin on the hot seat? 

It's been the gray cloud over Pittsburgh and Mike Tomlin’s head for a little too long. Tomlin has been in charge of of the Steelers since 2007 and won the Super Bowl in the 2008 season. Since 2007 he has had the Steelers at .500 or above every season. You’d think that’s enough to ensure his job for life in the Steele City but they haven’t won a playoff game since the 2016 season and patience is wearing thin for the Terrible Towel wavers. Since then they have been to the playoffs five times, but they are 0-5 since, with their last lost coming at the hands of these very same Baltimore Ravens. 

King Henry 

It seems strange to think, but the Baltimore Ravens seem to have to be reminded about what a good running back Derrick Henry is. He has only had 20+ carries in six games this season and in those games the Ravens are 4-2. Last week, in a must win situation with no Lamar Jackson they fed Henry 36 time and he produced a career high four TDs.  He should be heavily involved in the offense tonight with Lamar Jackson coming off injury, but you just never know with this Todd Monkin coached offense. 

DK still KOed

The Pittsburgh Steelers come into tonight's game with a huge absence on the offensive end. A couple weeks ago in Detroit, DK Metcalf was seen throwing a punch at a fan at Ford Field. While refs didn’t see it the NFL did and suspended him for the final two games of the season. Last week Pittsburgh’s offense failed to score a TD without him and this season Aaron Rodgers has struggled with him off the field. In 740 plays with Metcalf on the field the Steelers average 5.6 yards a play and have 25 passing TDs, In the 175 plays Metcalf has been off the field, PIT average 3.8 yards per play and have 0 passing TDs. 

Watt back for Steelers D

Pittsburgh has had to survive the last few weeks without the heart and soul of their defense, TJ Watt who suffered a partially collapsed lung almost a month ago and he was forced to miss the last three games. He's back just in time for the biggest game of the year, and says he is feeling back to his best and looking forward to playing in this all or nothing game from Pittsburgh. This season he has 53 total tackles and 7 sacks. He will be keeping pressure on Lamar Jackson all night long. 

AFC STANDINGS 

Taking a look at the AFC standings, we see the Broncos and the Patriots at the top of the conference. If they both win then the Broncos get the one seed, if NE win and DEN loses then NE get the one seed. Who ever doesn’t get the one seed will play the bottom placed Wild Card team which could be the Texans, Chargers or Bills. Either way that’s a tough game. The winner of this game will take on the highest seeded Wild Card which could be any of those three teams. 

Steelers star watch 

It was the story of the offseason and now the headline of the NFL season makes the front pages for maybe one last time. Aaron Rodgers flirted with retirement during the offseason but in the end he signed with the Steelers for what's looking like one last hoorah. The four time MVP has had a pretty good season considering he’s 42 years old. Rodgers has shown for 3,028 yards, 23 TDs and 7 INTs in what could be his final season, and tonight after more than two decades he might be playing his last game ever. He’ll need to have a big game to make sure his career extends for at least another week. 

Ravens star watch

Lamar Jackson is officially back for the Baltimore Ravens, but it's been far from an MVP type season for the two time winner of the award. He’s been banged up all year. He missed three games early in the year as Baltimore started the season 1-5 in their first six. He came back in Week 9 and led Baltimore to four straight wins, but slip ups against Cincy and Pitt would put them back below .500. He got hurt against the Patriots wo weeks ago, and missed last week but he’s back tonight and needs to give an MVP type performance. 

Steelers last game 

The Steelers put up a stinker in Cleveland last week. They had a chance to win the AFC North, and all they had to do was beat the three win Browns but that proved harder than it sounded. Cleveland scored 10 of their 13 points in the first quarter, with a field goal and a Shedeur Sanders TD pass to Harold Fannin Jr. The Steelers would kick a couple field goals in the 2nd quarter to tighten up the game but that would be the end of their scoring for the day. The Browns would hold the Steelers to three punts, a missed field goal and two turnover on downs in their final five possessions in the second half. 

Ravens last game 

Baltimore had a must win game in Green Bay and went to Lambeau without their two time MVP QB Lamar Jackson. With Tyler Huntley under center it was time for Derrick Henry to give a vintage performance and The King went for 216 yards and a career high four TDs on 36 rushes. Henry had three TDs in the first half to put the Ravens up 27-14 but GB would claw back into the game and close the gap to three heading into the fourth quarter. Zay Flowers caught a TD pass and Henry closed the game out with his fourth TD right after the Two Minute Warning.
