Report: DK Metcalf signs with the Seahawks on a three-year deal
Three years after being drafted by the Seattle Seahawks, DK Metcalf has signed a new contract and now has the sixth-highest annual salary for a receiver.
This offseason we saw big influx of wide receivers getting big extensions, and DK Metcalf became the latest pass catcher to get paid.
According to information from ESPN's Adam Schefter, Metcalf will sign a three-year, $72 million deal (an average of $24 million per season) with the Seahawks; 58.2 million dollars of the agreement are guaranteed.
Now, the Ole Miss alum is tied to Seattle until the end of the 2025 campaign. Metcalf will play the 2022 season under the final year of his rookie deal and will have a salary of $3.9 million.
With this deal, Metcalf becomes the sixth highest-paid wide receiver in terms of annual salary. In addition, his contract is the 10th largest for a WR.

End of the “hold-in”
The contract extension ends a contract dispute between Metcalf and the Seahawks. The 25-year-old wide receiver demanded a new contract and although he showed up for the start of training camp, he has not participated in club practices and was implementing what is called a “hold in.”
For their part, the Seahawks insisted on meeting the demands of the WR, whom they consider a vital part of their offense. In three years he has 216 receptions, 3,170 yards and 29 touchdowns.
“It’s very important to us,” Pete Carroll said in March. “We love it. He may be one of the best draft picks we’ve ever made. We will do everything to keep it.”
