The Dallas Cowboys are playing in their first home game this season as they host the New Orleans Saints at 1 p.m. ET at AT&T Stadium today.

The Saints won their first home game of the season in a brutal 47-10 beating of the Carolina Panthers. After going into their road game against the Cleveland Browns and dominating them 33-17, the Cowboys are now the favorites to beat the Saints in Week 2.

Cowboys vs Saints odds, point spread, and over/under prediction

Although the Cowboys suffered a postseason loss at home last year, they are still on a 16-game regular season win streak at home, and they’ll try to extend that today against the Saints. This will be the first time these two teams have met since 2021, when the Cowboys beat the Saints 27-17 in New Orleans.

The Cowboys covered the spread in six of their eight home wins last season and are 6-1 in their last seven home openers. The Saints, on the other hand, only covered the spread one time in their last seven September games.

According to the bookmakers, the Cowboys are 6.5-point favorites with an over/under of 47 points.

  • Cowboys vs. Saints spread: Cowboys -6.5
  • Cowboys vs. Saints over/under: 47 points
  • Cowboys vs. Saints money line: Cowboys -280, Saints +22

Will the Cowboys continue their dominance in Week 2?

The Cowboys played better than I think anyone expected in Week 1, but they seemed to fizzle out a bit in the second half. The defense played better than the offense, and they were up against a banged-up Browns offense and a rusty Deshaun Watson. Now the question is not only if they can keep up the good things they did in their win in Cleveland but if they can expand on it and play even better against a better team. If they utilize all their offensive weapons besides just CeeDee Lamb, they can surely take advantage of a Saints defense that still has work to do.

Are the Saints good or are the Panthers just bad?

Both things can be true, but the beating we saw in Week 1 is likely more due to the latter. Still, the Saints were great in their run game and their quick passing game as well. Alvin Kamara will be their biggest weapon against a difficult Dallas defense, but the way Dallas looked last week, he and Derek Carr may be under a lot more pressure.

Cowboys vs Saints: Our pick

I agree with the bookmakers on this one and I’m going with the Cowboys. However, I don’t expect it to be a blowout. I think the game will be a lot closer than the odds suggest. I think Dallas’ defense will continue to dominate like they did last week, but I also think they’ll need their offense to do a lot more than they did last week in order to make this a complete game. I’m taking the Cowboys to win, 27-20.
