NFL Super Wild Card Weekend: Everything you need to know

Although Purdy has been doing very well for the Niners, it is possible that 2nd string quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo could return at some point in the post season. Their 1st string quarterback, Trey Lance, who’s been injured since Week 2, remains out for the season with an ankle fracture. For now, it’s Purdy’s game, and the majority of the Niners lineup is looking as healthy as ever.

Quarterback Garoppolo remains out with a fractured foot. Linebacker Dre Greenlaw and left guard Aaron Banks were both injured during the Week 17 game against the Las Vegas Raiders and were unable to play in the final regular-season game the following week - Greenlaw suffered a back sprain and Banks suffered a knee and ankle sprain. Now, they have both been cleared to play against the Seahawks in the first round of the playoffs. In addition to Greenlaw and Banks, RB Christian McCaffrey, DL Arik Armstead, LB Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles, DT Kevin Givens, and DT Jason Kinlaw are all listed as available and participated fully in practice on Thursday despite dealing with prior injuries.

Besides Garoppolo, only cornerback Ambry Thomas has been ruled out for Saturday’s playoff game against the Seahawks. He suffered an ankle sprain, so we may see veteran CB Janoris “Jackrabbit” Jenkins come off of the practice squad to play this weekend.

The Seahawks are even healthier than the Niners heading into the first playoff game on Saturday. As of Thursday’s practice, no player has been ruled out, but four are currently listed as Questionable. Guard Phil Haynes and cornerback Xavier Crawford did not participate in practice all week though and are both listed as Questionable. RB DeeJay Dallas and DE Shelby Harris joined them on the Questionable list, but were able to practice some on Thursday. All other players who’d been on the injury report earlier in the week were cleared to play on Saturday.

Great news for the Seahawks, safety Ryan Neal, who missed the last three games with a knee injury and was limited in practice this week, is set to return to the lineup on Saturday. Running back Kenneth Walker III sat out of practice on Wednesday, but that was just routine maintenance for an ankle injury he sustained in Week 13. He should be good to go to face the Niners on Saturday.
