The New York Giants are set to host the Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night Football, concluding Week 4. Saquon Barkley, the Giants’ star running back, is still struggling due to an ankle injury he sustained in Week 2. Consequently, the burning question leading up to this crucial NFC matchup is whether Barkley will take the field tonight against the Seahawks.

Just hours before the Week 4 clash between the Giants and the Seahawks, NFL insider Ian Rapoport addressed the uncertainty of Barkley’s participation:

“Do not expect him to play”

“One injury we have been watching for, I don’t know, maybe forever? Saquon Barkley with his injured ankle,” Rapoport reported on Good Morning Football. “They play tonight — mercifully – he is listed as doubtful, so do not expect him to play. But he is steadily getting better with that ankle injury, and at least next week it seems like he has a realistic chance to be on the field.”

With Barkley likely sidelined, the Giants will once again rely on Matt Breida, Gary Brightwell, and Eric Gray in Week 4. Unfortunately, this trio struggled in Week 3 during a lopsided loss to the San Francisco 49ers. The Giants managed only 29 total rushing yards in the 30-12 defeat. Breida led the team in rushing with four carries for 17 yards, while Brightwell contributed five yards on four carries. Gray, a promising fifth-round rookie from Oklahoma, did not see any action on offense and was limited to kick returns.
