Shedeur Sanders’ Instagram message to the world after preseason
The Cleveland Browns wrapped up their preseason slate on Saturday with a win over the Los Angeles Rams, and Shedeur Sanders’ future is still up in the air.

The Cleveland Browns wrapped up their preseason schedule with a win over the Los Angeles Rams on Saturday and now it’s time to start thinking about Week 1. Before that they are going to have to trim the roster down to 53 men, and will have to make a decision on QB Shedeur Sanders.
Sanders’ preseason comes to an end
Sanders had his ups and downs during the preseason. He came out and had a brilliant debut in the Browns’ first game but then an injury kept him out of the second game. We got a final look at the rookie QB on Saturday, but things didn’t go to smoothly against the Rams over the weekend.
Shedeur came out in the second half, and got some run with the guys deeper down the depth chart. He was under constant pressure as the offensive line struggled to handle the Rams rush. He was sacked four times, and went 3/6 in for 14 yards in five possession. In four of those possessions he and the Browns offense went three and out.
Once the dust settled, Sanders took some time to post on his Instagram account to show some appreciation to those who backed him through this journey. “Thanks everyone for the (heart emoji) and support. There’s a lot to learn from this preseason but I’m really thankful for the opportunity to be out there. Day by day, rep by rep, I’ll keep learning and getting better.”
Shedeur showing maturity
One of the things that was most criticized about Shedeur and most attributed to his fall down the draft board was his attitude, but he seemed to handle himself pretty well both on and off the field. Even when asked about a potential shot at him by fellow rookie QB Dillon Gabriel, he brushed it off and showed maturity that many doubted in the pre draft process.
Did Shedeur Sanders believe Dillon Gabriel after he said entertainer comment wasn’t about him?

“Did I believe him? I mean I feel like you’re trying to start something. (Laughs). Do I feel like he did? I don’t know. It’s not on me to sit here and be like oh he did or he didn’t.” https://t.co/vJmLmWKV7V
Now it’s time for the Browns to make a decision, not just Shedeur, but the entire quarterback room. They currently have four QBs that could make the team, and that’s not counting DeShaun Watson who is likely to come back from injury in the late stages of the season. Forty year old QB Joe Flacco is the starter, but after that there are plenty of question marks. Kenny Pickett didn’t play in preseason, Dillon Gabriel played well in the final two games, and Shedeur had his ups and downs.
The Browns coaching staff and front office now have to figure out how many quarterbacks they want to keep on the roster this season, and who they will be keeping on the roster. Final cut day is Tuesday, August 26 and there will be a lot of people keeping track of Cleveland’s final 53 man roster.
