Update:

It’s been a turbulent week for the Sanders family. Deion Sanders had a rough start to the new football season with the Colorado Buffaloes without his sons or Travis Hunter on the team anymore. Shedeur Sanders earned a spot on the Cleveland Browns roster but begins the year as the No. 3 quarterback behind Joe Flacco and Dillon Gabriel. His brother Shilo, meanwhile, was cut by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after being ejected for throwing a punch. Adding fuel to the fire, the NFL has now fined Shilo $4,669 for his part in the fight.

“We have to regroup”: Shedeur Sanders rallies family amid NFL turmoil

Despite the rocky start, Shedeur delivered a passionate rallying cry to the family group chat:

“As SANDERS MEN we have to regroup,” he wrote, according to brother Deion Jr.

Shedeur, a fifth-round pick in April, has already impressed with his work ethic and off-field presence in Cleveland, with some analysts noting his unusually quick adjustment to life as a pro. While he faces an uphill battle for playing time, the Browns’ notorious quarterback carousel could create opportunities down the line.

Shilo, meanwhile, remains a free agent after his brief Tampa stint, and his path back to the NFL is unclear. Still, he’s optimistic about his future, recently saying he would consider other career paths like modeling or music.

The brothers’ father, Deion “Coach Prime” Sanders, also endured a rough weekend as his Colorado Buffaloes fell to Georgia Tech in his first game back since battling cancer. But the season has only just begun, and there’s still time to turn things around.

For now, the Sanders family is leaning on resilience - a trait Shedeur is determined to embody as his rookie season begins next week when the Browns take on the Cincinnati Bengals.
