Update:

Every week the Cleveland Browns fans lose another game is another week the fans wonder when Shedeur Sanders will get his shot. But the Browns will continue to rely on Dillon Gabriel as their starting quarterback for their Week 11 matchup against the Baltimore Ravens, head coach Kevin Stefanski confirmed Sunday following a 27-20 loss to the New York Jets.

Gabriel to start vs Ravens - When will Sanders get his chance?

Gabriel played the full game against New York, despite the Browns’ struggles offensively. Cleveland has scored 20 points or fewer in four of the last five games with Gabriel under center, leaving fans frustrated and raising questions about whether it’s time to turn to Shedeur Sanders, the promising rookie quarterback who has yet to see NFL regular-season action.

Despite mounting pressure, Stefanski said the team will remain committed to Gabriel for the time being.

We’re going to stick with Dillon. Obviously, these are young players that you’re always trying to get one game better and those type of things, but we have to play better as an offense,” said Stefanski. “We have to coach better. I know there are some plays that he’s going to want back. I thought he made some plays with his feet also in this game, but you can always improve. We got to look at all of it and find ways to work together.”

While Sanders will not be playing against the Ravens, reports suggest that Cleveland may already have a plan for the rookie later this season. Tony Rizzo reported that multiple sources indicated Sanders could start the final four games of the season - against the Chicago Bears, Buffalo Bills, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Cincinnati Bengals - to give the coaching staff a clearer picture of his potential. Some reports even hinted that Sanders could see action earlier than that depending on circumstances.

The Browns, now at 2-7, are facing a steep climb to reach the playoffs, but the team appears intent on balancing Gabriel’s development with giving Sanders a chance to showcase his skills before the season ends.

As the Browns prepare for the Ravens, all eyes will be on Gabriel to see if he can lead the team to a crucial win and maintain his hold on the starting job, while speculation about Sanders’ debut continues to grow among fans and analysts alike.
