Should Shedeur Sanders be the Cleveland Browns QB1? LeBron James thinks so
Cleveland might have a new star on the verge of taking over the city, and one of it’s hometown heroes is all aboard the Shedeur Sanders train.

Cleveland has been in need of a quarterback for a long time. Basically their entire existence as an NFL franchise. It’s early, but Shedeur Sanders shined in his debut from Carolina on Saturday night, and he caught the attention of Cleveland’s most famous homegrown hero.
The King crowns Shedeur
After getting dumped down the draft board into the fifth round of the selection show back in April, Shedeur Sanders heard nothing but negativity about his attitude, his decision making and his ability to play the game he loves. In his NFL debut against the Carolina Panthers he finally got a chance to silence those critics while making a big statement to all of the teams that passed up on him just a few months ago.
With a handful of quarterbacks vying for a roster spot injured, the former Colorado Buffalo QB got the start and showed out under the bright lights. He came into the stadium like only Deion’s son could do, blasting his own song, with an entourage behind, one of them with a sickle in his hand. Had he had a bad game, the media would have ripped him to shreds. Instead he crushed it in his first outing with the Browns, and people immediately went to social media to laud him with praise.
That young 🤴🏾 looking good out there! @ShedeurSanders Keep going UP!!! HEAD down on the grind and HEAD high to the most high 🙌🏾🫡

The most noteworthy of all of those supporters was Cleveland’s own LeBron James. The King went to Twitter during the game and all but crowned Shedeur the next King of Cleveland. “That young (king emoji) looking good out there! @ShedeurSanders Keep going up!!! HEAD down on the grind and HEAD high to the most hight.”
Sanders shines in debut
Among the others to heap praise on Shedeur for his debut was his dad Deion, University of South Carolina women’s basketball coach Dawn Staley, KC Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy and Nike, who used a picture of Shedeur with a fantastic slogan saying “When you get your opportunity, create your next one.”
That’s exactly what Shedeur did against the Panthers. He went 14/23 for 138 yards and two touchdowns. His arm looked strong, and accurate. He used his legs when he needed to and had a couple of spectacular scrambles out of pressure and showed tremendous pocket presence in his first game out of college. When asked about LeBron’s and the rest of the worlds love on social media, Shedeur kept is short and sweet, “That’s love. ... I’m playing for a lot of people and a lot of beliefs.”

There is still a lot of work to be done for Shedeur who still needs to make the 53 man roster before he can think about being the starter or even the next star in Cleveland. There are currently five QBs on the roster, but if Sanders keeps improving throughout the regular season, it’s going to give Coach Kevin Stefanski plenty to think about come Week 1.
