Should the Cowboys actually consider trading Micah Parsons?

The Dallas Cowboys linebacker is fed up, but his trade request was refused by owner Jerry Jones. However, one analyst thinks he should actually consider it.

Update:

Dallas has still not recovered from the Luka Doncic trade. Can we please calm down? Fortunately, it seems unlikely Cowboys star edge rusher Micah Parsons will actually be traded, but just the possibility of it stings a little to even consider.

However, one NFL analyst thinks it wouldn’t be the worst thing for the Cowboys.

Cowboys “owe it to themselves” to consider trading Parsons

As Parsons waits on owner Jerry Jones to make a contract extension official, he is losing patience and recently requested a trade. Jones refused it, but there’s still been zero movement on the contract.

While Parsons’ threat is likely just that, Bleacher Report’s Kristopher Knox thinks Jones should actually seriously consider trading him, despite the fact that he’s one of their best players.

”If Parsons is prepared to leave, the Cowboys should see what they can get in return,“ Knox wrote. ”They’re unlikely to be serious Super Bowl contenders within the next few seasons, and paying more than $130 million per year for three players would be hard to justify if they aren’t."

“Trading Parsons would likely bring back a pair of first-round picks and more. The Cowboys owe it to themselves to see just how high his price tag might go.”

Meanwhile, Jerry Jones refuses to entertain trade talks - or return to the negotiating table - creating a situation where inaction might be the worst possible move. The stalemate continues.
