Skip Bayless blasts Micah Parsons, says he doesn’t deserve mega deal yet
While most of the world agrees it’s time for Jerry to pay Micah, Skip Bayless is being a contrarion. Here’s his hot take on the Cowboys’ star edge rusher.

The Dallas Cowboys find themselves in yet another contract standoff - this time with star pass rusher Micah Parsons. And while most fans agree that owner Jerry Jones should just pay him already and get it over with, polarizing sports commentator Skip Bayless is pushing back against public sentiment.
Skip’s all-caps rant on Parsons
While most fans and analysts believe the Cowboys should extend Parsons with a top-dollar deal, Bayless argues the team should force him to play out his current contract, then franchise tag him in 2026.
In an all-caps post on X, Bayless claimed Parsons hasn’t earned the title of highest-paid defensive player due to his lack of impact in “big games.”
Adam Schefter says Micah Parsons and the Cowboys are farther apart than ever. GOOD: LOOK CLOSE: HIS PERFORMANCE HAS NOT MERITED HIGHEST PAID DEFENSIVE PLAYER EVER. He has 1 yr left at 24 mil. Then tag him for 30. Challenge him to be better in big games.

Indeeed, this was the Cowboys’ strategy with Dak Prescott when they made use of the tag before eventually striking a long-term deal.
Bayless’ take mirrors similar criticism from Colin Cowherd, who earlier accused Parsons of “stat-padding” against weaker opponents. However, Cowboys insiders suggest the contract dispute may come down more to length of the deal than the dollar amount.
Despite Bayless’ hot take, signs indicate the Cowboys are more likely to eventually pay Parsons than follow his advice.
