Speculation about Aaron Rodgers' future is running rampant following his latest photo: “Who retires first?”
The future Hall of Fame quarterback was pictured in a photo that has opened the door to questions about if, and where he will be playing in the 2025 season.

Aaron Rodgers is heading into the NFL’s offseason with tons of questions after being released by the New York Jets following a second disappointing season in the Meadowlands.
Rodgers resurfaces
In one of the first public appearances since the Jets bid the four-time MVP adieu, Rodgers is pictured with former adversary DeShon Elliott who has had his share of dustups with the Green Bay Packers icon.
The two were at the same training facility in Los Angeles and posed for a photo op following an offseason workout. The picture has sparked speculation surrounding the gun slinger’s future, with the caption asking “who retires first?”
Elliott has taken shots at Rodgers a time or two before, most recently when he was quoted saying “leave his ass at the retirement home,” soon after reports claimed then No. 12’s next destination could be Pittsburgh.
Elliott has A-Rod have history
It wasn’t the first time Elliott threw shade at Rodgers. Back in January of 2023 when Elliott was on the Detroit Lions, and Rodgers was on the Packers, he said neither A-Rod, nor the Packers respected the Lions. “I feel like they don’t respect us,” Elliott said. “A-Rod doesn’t respect us, that team doesn’t respect us. We’re used to being the underdog.”

While there is still a long way to go in this offseason that will be full of rumors on where Rodgers could land, the caption to the picture is what has people pondering Rodgers’ next step.
Elliott is 27 years old, and in the prime of his career while the currently unemployed QB is 41, and has one or two years left at the most. First, he is going to have to decide if he wants to play, and then decide where he wants to play.
Steelers looking for a QB1
Pittsburgh had a terrible end of the season, and a large part of their troubles came on the offensive end. After bringing in two veteran QBs to try and help what has been a league leading defense over the past few years, the offensive fizzled in the final four weeks of the season.
The Steelers lost their final four games heading into the playoffs, conceded their top spot in the AFC North to the Ravens, had to play their first round game in Baltimore and were KO’d in the Wild Card round. In the final five games of the regular season (including their playoff loss) Pittsburgh failed to score 20 points, and now it seems as though the Steelers are moving on from Russell Wilson and Justin Fields.
Rodgers isn’t the only QB on the Steelers radar. Jags young gun Trevor Lawrence was also an offseason target for coach Tomlin and Pittsburgh, but Lawrence shot those rumors down quickly.
