Steelers 17 vs 34 Ravens summary, score, stats and highlights | NFL Week 16
The two biggest plays of the game were made by the Ravens defense on plays you could call mistakes by Russell Wilson. He went 22/33 for 217 yards and two TDs but this pick six by Marlon Humphery shut the door on the Steelers.
The Ravens are now tied at 10-5 with Steelers at the top of the AFC North, but Pittsburgh still holds the slight tiebreaker which means if they win out they win the division. They have the Chiefs on Christmas Day and the Bengals in the final week of the season. The Ravens have the Texans and the Browns to close out the season. Should Pittsburgh lose a game and Baltimore win out, the Ravens would take the division title.

Just when it looked like the Ravens were going to put the game out of reach, the Steelers defense did what the Steelers defense does. They came up with a play that kept the team in the game, this time it was Minkah Fitzpatrick who made the red zone pick, but the joy would be short lived.

Derrick Henry was a monster all game long. He usually gets stronger as the game goes on, but he started off on fire and never cooled down. This 44 yard run was his longest on a night that he went for 162 yards on 24 carries.
Cargando...
Jackson and the Ravens punched back just six plays later with Jackson's third TD toss of the night. This one went to Mark Andrews in the back of the end zone. Jackson has thrown eight TD passes in the last two games, and he went 15/23 for 207 yards and 3 TDs with just one pick in the win.

the Steelers weren't done. The tied the game up midway through the third quarter after a 44 yard completion from Wilson to Calvin Austin III set up this TD pass for Cordarrelle Patterson. This was a heavyweight battle and both teams were exchanging blows for the first three quarters.
Cargando...
After the fumble the Ravens went 95 yards down the field and took the lead in a 14 point swing as Jackson found Rachod Bateman in the end zone to put BAL back in the lead. There was a lot of talk about Lamar Jackson not being able to beat the Steelers, but he came out with a point to prove against Pittsburgh with the division title on the line.

Coming into the night we thought the Steelers had the defense that made the big, game changing plays but I don't know if anyone thought it would the Ravens were going to win this game with their defensive plays. The first one came on this Wilson scramble that looked like it could go for a TD but Ar'Darius Washington forced fumble that was recovered by Kyle Van Noy. The Steelers were driving to take the lead, but the Ravens not only kept them out of the end zone but kept them off the board.
Cargando...
The Steelers went three and out on their first drive, but they bounced back with a balanced attack of Jaylen Warren running the football and Russell Wilson connecting on a handful of passes. Wilson found MyCole Pruitt in the back of the end zone to tie the game up with the first play of the second quarter.

The Baltimore Ravens knew they needed to beat the Pittsburgh Steelers if they were going to have a chance to win the AFC North, and they got the job done to set up an interesting end of the season for these two teams. Lamar Jackson had a hat trick of touchdown passes to lead his team to the biggest win of the season.
Jackson had five TD passes against the New York Giants last week, and picked up right where he left off today in Baltimore. The Ravens got Derrick Henry going early and that set up the pass game for Lamar Jackson. The two time MVP hit Isaiah Likely for the first score of the game.

AFC Standings
Coming into Week 16 we see the Chiefs at the top of the AFC, currently in the top spot for the one seed and home field advantage. They have some tough games coming up, and if they slip the Bills will be waiting, but it’s unlikely a one loss team losses multiple games in the next few weeks. That means the these two teams will likely be putting all their energy on winning the AFC North and earning home field advantage in at least one game in the playoffs. The Steelers have already clinched a playoff spot with 10 wins, while the Ravens can do that today with a win. Should they lose there is a miniscule chance they don’t make the playoffs but they would have to lose out and the Dolphins or Colts would have to win out. So basically these two teams are in, but both of these teams are desperate to win the division. That means they will have to win today in Baltimore.
Last match up
It was an old school, rock ‘em sock ‘em AFC North game filled with defense, big hits and not much scoring. The Steelers held Lamar Jackson to just 207 yards 1 TD and 1 INT and Derrick Henry to just 65 yards on 13 carries as the then top rated offense scored just 16 points. The Steelers offense didn’t do much better, but the six Chris Boswell field goals were enough to hold off the Ravens. As always the Steelers defense came up with some huge plays including a 4th quarter interception and a two point conversion stand after the Ravens scored a late TD that could have tied the game had they converted the two point conversion.

Star watch: Steelers
The Steelers stars have been and still are on the defensive side of the ball. This team has lived and died on the defenses ability to shut the other team down and make the occasional big play that would change the game around. No one is more responsible for that than TJ Watt, who gave Steelers fans a big scare last week when he went down late in the game with an ankle injury. After being limited in practice early in the week he participated fully in practice on Thursday and he is good to go today. That will be a huge boost to this defense today against the reigning MVP of the league. TJ Watt has 54 tackles, 11.5 sacks and is the heart and soul of this defense that has had Lamar Jackson’s number over the last few years.

Star watch: Ravens
Lamar Jackson is the most explosive player in the league. With the ability to beat you with his legs or his arm, he constantly keeps defenses on edge, except when he plays against the Steelers. He is 2-5 against the Steelers in his career, and they have a history of being able to slow down the two time MVP of the league. This year, he has thrown for 3,580 yards (5th in the NFL), 34 TDs (2nd) and just 3 INTs (T-1st) and as another 743 yards rushing with three TDs on the ground. It looks as though Jackson is going to come up a little shy of being the first QB to throw for 4,000 yards and run for 1,000 yards in the same season, but he is still well in the MVP race. He will be much more interested in winning the remaining three games of the season and taking the Ravens back to the Super Bowl.

Season recap: Ravens
This was supposed to be the year the Ravens made a deep playoff run and challenged the Chiefs for AFC supremacy. They got their chance at the Chiefs in the first week of the season and lost that game by a toe. Then they inexplicably blew a double digit second half lead against the Raiders before straightening the ship and winning the next five games. The Browns stunned them in Cleveland and the Ravens would lose three of their next six before their BYE week. Their win over the Giants puts them in position to win the AFC North, but they know they have to win this game after losing to the Steelers earlier in the year.

Season recap: Steelers
After years of having the defense carry the load for a team that could barley move the ball on offense, Pittsburgh went out and signed two veteran QBs in a matter of days. Russell Wilson was hurt for the start of the season which meant Justin Fields started the season under center for the Steelers. Pittsburgh went 4-2 in his time, but the offensive problems persisted. Coach Mike Tomlin made the change in Week 7, starting Russell Wilson and boom, the Steelers put up 37 points against the Jets and then won their next three games including a a low scoring win against the Ravens in Pittsburgh. Their momentum was halted on a snowy night in Cleveland, but they bounced back scoring 44 points in a win over the Bengals and then exacted revenge on the Browns the week before last. The game in Philly was ugly, but they have a chance to silence some of the doubters who still might not be completely convinced by the offense.

Last game: Ravens
The Ravens came out of their BYE week in perfect circumstances. They got some much needed rest, and had a trip to New York for a match up with the Giants to get the “warmed up” for the rest of the season. Lamar Jackson went wild, throwing for 290 yards and 5 TDs to thrust his name right back into the MVP conversation. The Giants, who had Tim Boyle and Tommy DeVito in under center had no chance as the Ravens built up a 21-0 lead on a day that Derrick Henry had a light work load. The Ravens would wax the Giants, 35-14 and keep within a game of the Steelers to set up today’s massive matchup in Baltimore.

Last game: Steelers
The Steelers gauntlet of a schedule to end the season started last week in Philadelphia. The Eagles controlled the game from start to finish on a day that Pittsburgh only gained 163 yards of total offense. Despite their offensive troubles they were still in the game at halftime after a couple field goals and a TD pass from Russell Wilson to Pat Freiermuth sent the Steelers to half-time down 17-13. Philly dominated the second half, controlling the ball for 24 of the 30 minutes, holding the Steelers to just 54 yards on 11 plays and stretching their lead out to 27-13 after a field goal and a tush push from Jalen Hurts. Hurts had almost 300 yards, two TDs and another rushing TD while Russell Wilson had just 128 yards on 14/22 passing.

We are live from Baltimore
Hello everyone and welcome to M&T Bank Stadium where the Ravens know they can take a big step towards winning the division with a win today. If they lose it will be almost impossible, and they will be forced to go on the road for each of their playoff games once the postseason comes rolling around. They are coming off one of their best performances of the year last week and the Ravens will look to keep it rolling against a Steelers team that have lost two of their last four games. They are in the midst of a brutal end of the season that could see them go from competing for a one seed in the AFC to the Wild Card spot if they aren’t careful. Needless to say, this one is a big one. Both of these teams know they will be in the playoffs but the question is who will win the division and earn the right to host at least one postseason game.
