Stefon Diggs accusations: What we know so far
According to court records, the charges stem from an alleged incident that occurred on December 2, just one day after the Patriots defeated the New York Giants in Week 17. Diggs was scheduled for a motion hearing Tuesday morning at Dedham District Court, which began at 11 a.m. He is expected to return to court on January 21.
At this time, Diggs has not made a public statement, nor has his attorney commented on the case.
The news comes less than a year after the Patriots signed Diggs to a three-year, $69 million contract in March, a move that reshaped their offense and helped propel New England to an AFC East title.
On the field, Diggs has delivered one of the strongest seasons of his career, leading the Patriots with 82 receptions for 970 yards and four touchdowns, quickly becoming a focal point of the offense and a respected voice in the locker room.
“Prime time is my time,” Diggs said earlier this season. “The world is watching. I always look at it as another opportunity to show the world who I am.”
Teammates have consistently praised his impact.
“He has done it at such a high level for a long time,” cornerback Christian Gonzalez said earlier this year. “He’s been such a good addition to this team -good energy and a good voice in the locker room.”
What happens next?
As of now, Diggs remains with the team, and the Patriots have not indicated whether the charges will impact his availability. Any potential discipline could also involve the NFL, which typically reviews legal matters under its personal conduct policy.
For now, the situation remains ongoing, and further clarity is expected as court proceedings continue in the coming weeks. The Patriots are set to face the Miami Dolphins in the season finale on Sunday with the No. 1 seed in the AFC on the line.
