Surprising Cowboys player named NFL Fantasy breakout star to watch
The Dallas Cowboys are predicted to have a potential rookie breakout star who’s worth keeping an eye on in Fantasy.

The Dallas Cowboys are heading into the 2025 NFL season with a completely different running back room than last year, and that’s a good thing. While none of the backs on this team stand out as a superstar, it’s expected that Miles Sanders will be the RB1 and Javonte Williams the RB2.
But Pro Football Focus is predicting a different running back to be the breakout star in Dallas’ backfield and one you’ll want to keep an eye on in your fantasy league.
Jaydon Blue: The rookie RB Fantasy managers shouldn’t ignore
Enter rookie running back Jaydon Blue. Blue was Dallas’ fifth-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft and is currently listed as their third-string RB behind Sanders and Williams. But he’s been turning heads at training camp, and PFF believes his receiving skills give him a real shot at taking over the starting role.

Blue led all SEC running backs last year in receiving yards (365) and receiving TDs (6), while also averaging 5.4 yards per carry and racking up 517 yards after contact. With the Cowboys’ new head coach Brian Schottenheimer pledging a smashmouth run-heavy approach, Blue might be the surprise centerpiece of the offense.
The Cowboys’ backfield is still wide open, but fantasy analysts are urging owners to grab Blue late in drafts and especially in PPR leagues.
