Tampa Bay Buccaneers confident that Rob Gronkowski will resign with the team

If the rumors turn out to be true and the Gronk returns, he’ll have Tom Brady passing to him once again and that would be a problem, for the league.

Update:
Rob Gronkowski se mantendrá retirado, incluso si Tom Brady lo busca

Though he’s remained non committal about his future for quite some time the legendary Tight End could soon be back on the Bucs’ roster, at least that’s what the team says.

Is Rob Gronkowski returning to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers?

According to recent reports, Rob Gronkowski may well be on his way back to the team where he became an NFL legend. While it’s true that the future Hall of Fame tight end has continued to remain tight lipped about his plans for the future, it now seems that the franchise is quite hopeful that he will be back in the fold soon with Organized Team Activities now fully underway and mandatory mini camps coming in the next few weeks. As one of the marquis free agents available in the league right now, it’s clear that the Gronk will have no shortage of suitors, but it’s starting to look like as the saying goes, ‘home is where the heart is.’

Could Gronkowski turn up in time for camp as per reports? Only time will tell, but suffice to say if he does it will be a massive boost for the franchise. Remember the Bucs are also about to see the return of the GOAT himself, as Tom Brady quickly took a U-turn after announcing his retirement from the game. Consider for a moment the idea of seeing both Gronkowski and TB12 suiting up for the Bucs once again when the 2022 NFL regular season gets going. Rumor has it that Brady has even been working on the four time NFL First Team All Pro. Watch this space.

Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski are thick as thieves

That the pair were recently seen at a New York Yankees training session together is simply testament to the close relationship that they share both on and off the field. After all, one will recall that it was Brady who played a central role in helping the Bucs to convince Gronkowski to join them back in 2020. It was a move that the Tampa Bay definitely benefited from, as by the end of the post season they were celebrating a Super Bowl title. Of course the next season would see the dynamic duo end their post season prematurely, courtesy of a loss to the eventual champions the Los Angeles Rams, at which point both called time on their careers. Yet if we go on what we’ve seen since, it would appear that Brady and Gronkowski have unfinished business.

Then there is one other factor to contemplate: the Gronk has only ever played with Brady, having followed him to the Bucs from the Patriots. What’s more is that he once openly declared that he would never seek to change that fact as long as he played. With that said, there can really only be one place that Gronkowski is going to play should he choose to do so. Lastly, there is the Bucs’ current contractual structure, which is to say the franchise is essentially keeping a spot open for the star tight end. Now it’s just a matter of if and when the Gronk wants to come back.
