SUPER BOWL LIX
Taylor Swift performing at Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show could “break all records”
Officials in the National Football League have targeted negotiations with the popular singer to have her at halftime of the 2025 Super Bowl in New Orleans.
Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift are arguably (not arguably!) the hottest sporting-celeb couple in the United States right now. So much so that the National Football League is reportedly already considering doing business with them, after seeing the impact of the singer’s presence to enjoy her boyfriend’s Kansas City Chiefs games, and most specifically the victory against the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl.
Swift traveled from Japan – where she was working as part of her The Eras Tour – to Las Vegas to support her boyfriend, and the NFL were quick to notice a spike in revenue. “This year, it has been estimated that her presence helped generate a substantial amount of money estimated between 700 and 750 million dollars,” said a source from the American league to US edition of The Sun.
Such is her impact that the league are eagerly anticipating what it would mean for the singer to take charge of the halftime performance, already a massive draw, of the sporting event and they plan to start negotiating with her. “If she is the headlining artist of next year’s halftime show, it is expected to generate over 1.3 to 1.5 billion dollars.” Just think who she’d at to the onstage fun.
According to another source, if Taylor performs and the Chiefs reach the final game for the third consecutive year, “it will be the biggest sporting event ever broadcast in the United States” and could see audience figures reach a record 140 million.
Swift and Kelce: “a gift for the NFL”
“Taylor’s relationship with Travis is arguably the best gift ever given to the NFL,” explains an official from the league’s economic sector. “It’s a huge benefit for the league and for them. The story was perfect this year. And next year could be even better.
“If the stars align and Taylor and Travis are there again, the money earned would break all records,” league representatives explained.
According to analysts consulted by the aforementioned media outlet, Taylor Swift’s halftime performance could turn it into the biggest event of all time. In fact, Roger Stokoe Goodell, the Commissioner of the National Football League, has acknowledged Swift’s ability to attract those who are not football fans and a younger demographic, with the potential increase in advertising revenue being particularly noteworthy. “Ads could reach a cost of 8.5 million dollars each, an increase of a million dollars or more,” the source added.
