The Tennessee Titans announced through a press release posted on their social networks in the name of owner Amy Adams Strunk, that they have fired general manager Jon Robinson. The team leads the AFC South with a 7-5 record, but has lost the last two games against the Cincinnati Bengals and Philadelphia Eagles.

“Since I became an owner in 2015, my goal has been to raise the bar for what we expect from the organization in all facets,” said Adams Strunk. “I am proud of what we have achieved in these eight seasons, but I believe there is more to do and the aspirations are high.”

The team owner also thanked Robinson for his years of service. The manager arrived in Tennessee in January 2016 and was in charge of recruiting Derrick Henry, Jack Conklin, Austin Johnson and Kevin Byard in his first Draft.

"I want to thank Jon for his dedication to the organization's upward trajectory and I wish him and his family the best," said the Titans owner.

During Robinson’s tenure, the team went 66-43 in the regular season and 3-4 in the playoffs. Additionally, the Titans have won the AFC South the past two seasons and qualified as a wild card in 2017 and 2019.

Robinson’s replacement

The team said that the search for a new general manager will begin at the end of the 2022 NFL season. For the remainder of the season, Ryan Cowden will take Robinson’s place. Cowden has served for seven years as vice president of player personnel.
