Tennessee Titans 10 vs 35 Philadelphia Eagles summary: stats, and highlights | NFL Week 13

The Philadelphia Eagles followed up their dominant running performance against the Packers by airing it out against the Tennessee Titans on Sunday.

The Philadelphia Eagles continue to impress, and on Sunday they did it with the air attack against Tennessee. Jalen Hurts and AJ Brown led a passing game that buried the Titans 35-10 at Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday.

Philly soars through the air

Last week it was Philadelphia dominating the Green Bay Packers on the ground. The run game went for 363 yards and Jalen Hurts had 157 yards rushing all on his own. This week against the Titans they aired it out all day long and picked apart the Tennessee secondary.

The Eagles came into the game as the hottest team in the league, but it was far from a smooth start for Philly. There were five false starts and nine total penalties flagged against Nick Siriani’s team in the first half, but they were able to over come those mistakes and blow out the Titans.

Every time the Eagles got a chance to snap the ball, it seemed like Hurts would hit one of his receivers for a big play, including an opening drive TD to Devonte Smith on a 34 yard connection and AJ Brown on a 41 yard TD connection.

Brown gets his revenge game

It was a particularly special game for Brown, who was traded away by Tennessee over the offseason and the Eagles came knocking. The former Titan shined for 118 yards and two touchdowns on eight catches . His second quarter TD catch was preceded by an incredible 41 yard catch that was taken off the board after the review showed he didn’t get his second foot in. On the next play he was wide open and walked into the end zone for the TD.

While Hurts and the offense deserve a lot of the credit, the Eagles run defense shut down Derrick Henry all game. The Titans running back was held to 30 yards on 11 carries and Philly recorded six sacks on Ryan Tannehill who was pulled in the fourth quarter with the game out of reach.

The Titans managed one touchdown all game and it came in the first quarter, but they paid a price to get into the end zone. Tannehill hit Treylon Burks for a 25 yard TD pass, but Burks was crushed on a blow to the head and was forced to sit out the rest of the game. That would be the last time the Titans got into the end zone.

Eagles D locks down Titans in second half

Hurts would run in his eight rushing touchdown of the season right before the half to put the Eagles up 21-10 and Philly would put it on cruise control from there. The Titans would have just one drive that was longer than four plays as Brown and Miles Sanders stretched the lead out to blow out proportions.

Phillly would score on their first drive of the second half when Hurts connected with Brown for the second time, this time the former Titan was wide open down the field and walked into the end zone on a 29 yard catch and run.

Sanders would punch in the final score of the game from three yards out early in the fourth quarter and the Eagles starters were pulled shortly after with the game in the bag.

Hurts threw for 380 yards and three touchdowns in the blowout win and the Eagles continue to prove that they can win in anyway necessary.

Sanders capped off the blowout win with a 3 yard run, dragging Tennessee defenders into the end zone.

AJ Brown doing AJ Brown things, showing the Titans just what they are missing. He went for 119 yards and two TDs on eight catches.

Right before the the half Hurts ran it into the endzone for his 8th rushing TD of the season.

Tannehill hit Burks for a 22 yard TD pass but Burks got crushed as he made the catch and had to miss the rest of the game.

The Eagles stuttered up the field on their first possssion, but despite false starts and early timeouts, Hurts found Smith for this 34 yard TD connection.

The King and his court

The King has showed signs of his brilliant self this season, but has not been the dominant back on a week to week basis that we have seen throughout his career in Nashville. The Titans are going to want to pound the Philly defense with a heavy barrage of Henry tonight. The King has gone for over a hundred yards rushing just five times this season in 11 games, but still has 1,048 yards and 10 TDs and leads the league in yards after contact. Even when he isn’t having a great day on the ground, the Titans find ways to get their beast the ball like last week against the Bengals.

Brown with a TEN reunion

The Titans will see a familiar face wearing Eagle green tonight when they square up against their former WR1, A.J. Brown. Brown emerged as one of the top wide receivers in the league during his time in Tennessee, but the Titans front office didn’t want to pony up the dough to keep their star pass catcher around this offseason. Philly came swooping in and scooped up Brown, and he has been a revelation to the Eagles offense. He has caught 53 balls for 831 yards and seven touchdowns this season and has turned into one of Jalen Hurts’ favorite targets.

Titans trying to keep up

The Titans loss to the Bengals last week dropped them to three games back of the Chiefs when you take into acoount KC's win over TEN earier this season. They still are in complete control of the AFC South, and look like a shoe in for the playoffs.

Philly back at home

We have always known that Jalen Hurts is a dual threat danger, being able to take control of a game with this arm or his legs. Last week he showed that he can put up numbers like Lamar Jackson on the ground and we have already seen him post huge numbers through the air. Today, he is going up against a top ranked defense in Tennessee who aren’t going to give him anything easy.

Tennessee touches down in Lincoln Financial

The Tennessee Titans bounced back from two losses to start the season to put themselves in the conversation for top team in the AFC. Tonight they will have a chance to reaffirm their position in that debate if they can get a win against the best team in the league. The only win against a team with a winning record to this point of the season came in Week 5 when they beat a Washington team that didn’t yet have Taylor Heinicke to bring them a midseason resurgence.

Philly last week

The Eagles were locked in a high flying shootout against the Green Bay Packers on Sunday night, but it was the ground game that dominated under the bright lights at Lincoln Financial Field. Jalen Hurts had 157 of the Eagles 363 yards rushing, and added two touchdown passes to his season total in the 40-33 win over the Packers last week.

Tennessee last week

The Titans offense is far from a top side in the NFL, and that was more than evident last Sunday. Ryan Tannehill threw for 291 yards, but the offense only got into the end zone once against the Bengals. It came off a 69 yard screen pass to Derrick Henry who fumbled in the end zone and the loose ball was recovered by Treylon Burks. The defense limited Joe Burrow and the Bengals offense, but an early Tee Higgins TD in the fourth quarter made the difference, putting Cincy up 20-10, and the Titans dropped to 7-4 on the season.

We are live from Lincoln Financial

Hello everyone and welcome to the City of Brotherly Love, where we don’t expect to see too much love shared between these two smash mouth teams today. The Eagles have used a blend of brut and beauty to be the first team to double digit wins this season. The Tennessee Titans stay true to their roots as a ground and pound team that ride their show horse, Derrick Henry and rely on their defense to keep them in the hunt for the one seed in the AFC.
