The best NFL schedule release videos of 2023
NFL schedule release day may sound like a snooze fest, but it’s become like the Super Bowl for social media teams as they try to best their video each year.
The NFL released its full schedule for the upcoming 2023-24 season on Thursday night, and while there are some juicy matchups in store, the most exciting part of schedule release day is actually the videos released by the social media teams. Over recent years, these NFL schedule release videos have become like a competition - both with the other teams and themselves, to try to best the video from the year before.
This year’s videos include cameos from former players, anime, TikTok references, and even the use of AI. Check out the best ones from this year.
Best 2023 NFL schedule release videos
1, Tennessee Titans
The Titans didn’t have to do anything showy or creative to grab attention. This video had me cackling out loud. They went onto the streets in Nashville and showed people the logos of the opponents for each week and asked them to name the team. From Chester Cheeto to Lightning McQueen, the responses are hilarious.
2. Los Angeles Chargers
Not only was the Chargers’ release video super creative, but it was also super clever. They went with an anime-style video that’s full of hidden Easter eggs that trolled every single opponent on their list.
3. Detroit Lions
The Lions got creative with the use of Artificial Intelligence, using the voices of Dan Campbell and general manager Brad Holmes to have a fake Madden battle with hilarious banter between them.
4. Cleveland Browns
The Browns went with a creative animated video with “Brownie the Elf” fighting the opponents in a wrestling ring.
5. Denver Broncos
The Broncos decided to make a parody of The Office with Peyton Manning in the role of Michael and their mascot, Miles, as the poor party planner. They even get the real Angela to participate and she is equally as annoyed with Miles as she always was with everyone on the show.
6. Minnesota Vikings
The Vikings used a drone to create their impressive fly-by video, which showed off their facility.
7. Buffalo Bills
The Bills made their players’ wildest dreams come true in their video. They asked the players what their dreams were - Josh Allen’s was to be a paper boy - and they found a way to make them happen.
8. Philadelphia Eagles
It’s dogs. It’s adorable. Enough said.
9. Green Bay Packers
The Packers went with an old infomercial-style video and they nailed it. This video brought me way back to watching late-night TV at my parent’s house on a box TV with antennas.
10. Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers made a release video about how to make a release video. It was creative and managed to make fun of several other team’s videos in the process.
