Update:

WARNING: This story contains descriptions of sexual assault that may be disturbing to some readers.

Last month, when the Baltimore Banner initially broke the news that Ravens kicker Justin Tucker had been accused of sexual misconduct, there were already six different women saying that he’d done similar things. That number has since increased to 16. 16 women, all massage therapists, say they experienced Tucker behaving inappropriately towards them.

The allegations are extremely serious - they include him deliberately exposing his erect penis, touching the therapists with his penis, and leaving what appeared to be ejaculate on the massage table after the session. Most of the 16 women do not know each other, but all shared similar stories, and all reportedly occurred sometime between 2012 and 2016.

NFL investigating accusations against Justin Tucker - the potential consequences

The NFL had previously said they would “look into” the allegations, and the Baltimore Banner has now reported that the NFL went to the Baltimore area to interview three of the women this week. The investigators reportedly spoke to the women for 90 minutes, asking detailed questions about the incidents. Two other women are reportedly scheduled to be interviewed in the coming weeks.

The NFL’s personal conduct policy states that players can be punished for behavior which poses a “genuine danger” to others or that “undermines or puts at risk the integrity of the NFL.” Under that same policy, if a player is found to have committed sexual assault with physical force, they can be suspended without pay for six games.

In a disturbingly similar case, quarterback DeShaun Watson was accused of sexual assault by more than 20 women, also massage therapists. In his case, he was given the six-game, unpaid suspension for violating the league policy and engaging in “unwanted sexual contact”, both endangering the well-being of another person and undermining the integrity of the NFL.

The NFL and NFLPA later agreed to an 11-game, unpaid suspension and Watson paid a $5 million fine. He was also required to undergo evaluations by behavioral experts and participate in a treatment program.

Tucker has continuously denied the claims, saying the are "false and incredibly hurtful to both me, and more importantly, my family.”

The 35-year-old kicker just finished his 13th season in the league and with the Ravens. He is the most accurate kicker in the league, but his performance has been steadily declining, with 2024 his worst season yet, making just 22 of 30 field goals for a career-low 73.3% accuracy.

In 2022, Tucker signed a four-year contract extension with $17.5 million guaranteed. The contract runs through the 2027 season, but the Ravens could cut him early, as early as March 12 with free agency coming up. The team can potentially decide his future before the league investigation is complete.
