The Pittsburgh Steelers looking for an Offensive Coordinator
Head coach Mike Tomlin has never had a losing season in his 17 years with the Pittsburgh Steelers and is scouting around the NFL for an offensive strategist
Mike Tomlin has revealed that the Pittsburgh Steelers are looking for a new Offensive Coordinator after firing Matt Canada on the back of the Week 11 loss to the Cleveland Browns.
Running back coach Eddie Faulkner was promoted to the interim role, but coach Mike Tomlin says that it is unlikely that Faulkner or quarterback coach Mike Sullivan will fill the vacant position.
“I'm looking for external candidates and aligning the pecking order here,” the coach said.
“I appreciate their efforts in terms of what they did for us down the stretch, but I am looking for external candidates at this time,” he added.
Tomlin has been head coach of the Steelers for 17 years and has never had a losing season since his arrival in 2007, maintaining a record of 173-100 with a Super Bowl appearance in the mix.
“It is not a priority for me, I have seen many things. I’m not afraid of work. But it certainly raises fewer questions and things of that nature,” said Tomlin.
