The Trump jinx continues: First the Chiefs in the Super Bowl and now the USA hockey team loses to Canada
Words of encouragement from the new US President have proven to be the ‘kiss of death’ again after Team USA lost to Canada.

Looking to make some money in the world of sports betting? Bet on the team that plays against the one that Donald Trump wishes well or picks.
We saw this happen with the recent Super Bowl as Trump predicted a win for the Chiefs as Andy Reid’s team chased the a historic ‘three-peat.’
Ahead of the game Trump stated: “I guess you have to say that when a quarterback wins as much as he has won, I have to go with Kansas City,” Trump told Brett Baier of Fox News in the interview, referring to Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes.

“At the same time, Philadelphia has a fantastic [team]. It’s gonna be just a great game.”
On the night, the Eagles proved too strong winning 40-22.
Canada silence TD Garden
Trump’s latest dabbling in the world of sports, came this week ahead of Thursday night’s 4 Nations Face-Off NHL final between the USA and Canada. After a heated game between both nations in Montreal last Saturday, in a game which the US won, Thursday nights contest resulted in a victory for the Canadians in a game played amid increased political tension.

Tension around the tournament
Earlier in the day, U.S. President Donald Trump made a bold statement on social media, reiterating his proposal to annex Canada as the 51st state of the United States.

“I’ll be calling our GREAT American Hockey Team this morning to spur them on towards victory tonight against Canada, which with FAR LOWER TAXES AND MUCH STRONGER SECURITY, will someday, maybe soon, become our cherished, and very important, Fifty First State,” President Trump posted on Truth Social.
After the win, Canadian leader Justin Trudeau took to social media with a “You can’t take our country — and you can’t take our game", retort.
