If one thing is clear about Jared Goff, it’s that his star is on the rise. Following a successful stint with the Los Angeles Rams between 2016 and 2021, a period during which he helped the team to post its first winning season in 14 years, Goff then joined the Detroit Lions where he broke a 15-game losing streak.

Back at the start of this year, Goff and the Lions were denied their first ever appearance in the Super Bowl after losing the NFC Championship Game 34-31 to the San Francisco 49ers.

Of course, that’s the sporting side of things. The reality is we’re here to get into what goes on off the field and the lady in Jared Goff’s life: Christen Harper.

Who is Christen Harper?

As you may or may not know, Christen Harper is now Jared Goff’s wife, however, it’s clear when taking a look at her life and career, she’s so much more.

Born on May 28th, 1993, to Michael and Daria Harper in the town of Valencia, California, Harper had an active childhood and one in which sport was always present. Indeed, her older brother Shane Harper is a professional ice hockey player who has played in the American Hockey League and has even represented Sweden and Russia.

Where her career is concerned, it’s interesting to note that she began acting as a child and even had a role in the 2004 short film ‘Seven Eleven.’ She would also later appear in the 2019 films ‘Auggie’ and ‘The Obituary of Tunde Johnson.’

Most recently she appeared in an episode of HBO’s Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the Detroit Lions. Yet, it’s got to be said that modeling is where she made her mark.

Having delved into the industry during her time at California State University, Northridge, as a means to pay for her studies, she found her calling.

Since then she has appeared 2022 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue.

How did Jared Goff and Christen Harper meet?

Interestingly the couple met in the manner that many people do today - through a dating app. In a video taken for Sports Illustrated during Miami Swim Week, Harper revealed that she met Goff on Raya, the private, membership-based dating app that’s often used by celebrities. That was back in 2019 and the pair have been together ever since, with Goff proposing in front of friends while they were on vacation in 2022.

I was truly not looking for anything at the time,” Harper said. “I had just gotten out of a long relationship and I was trying to stay single for a year. Then I met him and the rest is history, baby.”

Glamorous wedding in California

In June 2022, Harper announced on social media that she and Goff were now engaged. She posted a video on her Instagram account describing how her boyfriend popped the question during a beach vacation in Cabo San Lucas - and she said yes.

“6.16.22 can’t wait for forever with you,” Harper captioned a brief clip showing the happy couple in an embrace at the beach.

The couple tied the knot almost exactly two years later in Ojai, southern California on 22 June 2024 with a glitzy reception at the Ojai Valley Inn. Following the ceremony, the happy couple jetted out to Europe, stopping off in Saint-Tropez, France to attend the wedding of former Michigan QB Wilton Speight before heading to Greece for their honeymoon.

Been truly soaking every second since Our wedding day but so excited to finally share our special day earlier this summer,” Harper wrote on her socials, with a white heart emoji.

What charity work are the Goffs involved in?

Christen also regularly helps out as a volunteer at Forgotten Harvest, a food rescue organization serving people in need in Southeast Michigan.

As she told The Detroit News last month: "When my now husband and I first moved to Detroit, Forgotten Harvest was one of the first organizations we got involved in and it was just a great way to honestly get to know the city and the city’s needs.

“It’s an amazing organization and I think I was just blown away because I’ve done volunteer work in L.A., and this was just like nothing I’ve ever seen before, the way they handle food scarcity. It was just so unique. It made me continue to come back and volunteer more. There’s so many different types of volunteering that they offer and I think it’s really fun because it keeps it interesting. I just kept coming back for more".
