Zach Ertz is an American professional football tight end who currently plays for the Washington Commanders.

The 34-year-old played college football at Stanford University, where he was a unanimous All-American in 2012. He was then selected by the Philadelphia Eagles in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft.

Throughout his career, he has played for the following NFL teams: Philadelphia Eagles (2013-2021), Arizona Cardinals (2021-2023), Detroit Lions (2023) and Washington Commanders (2024-present).

Some of his career highlights include being a Super Bowl champion (LII), a three-time Pro Bowl selection, and holding the NFL record for most receptions in a season by a tight end with 116 receptions.

2017 nuptials

Zach and Julie Ertz were married in March (2017), at the Bacara Resort & Spa in Santa Barbara, California. The ceremony was held on the coast, and the event was attended by family, friends, and members of their respective football and soccer teams at the time.

Julie Ertz is one of the most decorated and respected players in U.S. women’s soccer history.

The Arizona native was a key member of the United States women’s national team that won the FIFA Women’s World Cup in both 2015 and 2019 with Ertz representing the USWNT over 120 times.

Ertz also won a bronze medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games and was named the U.S. Soccer Female Player of the Year in 2017 and 2019. She is the only player to have won the U.S. Soccer Young Female Player of the Year award (in 2012) and then go on to win the senior team award twice.

She was a standout player in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL), playing for the Chicago Red Stars and Angel City FC. She was named NWSL Rookie of the Year in 2014.

Ertz announced her retirement from professional soccer in August 2023.
