Cooper Rush has been given starting quarterback duties for the Dallas Cowboys after Dak Prescott had a season-ending hamstring injury in Week 9. Since the Cowboys signed him in 2017, Rush has proven to be a reliable backup to Prescott. We know him, but let’s get to know a bit about the woman who’s supported him all along, his wife, Lauryn Rush.
Who is Lauryn Rush?
While Rush grew up in Michigan, Lauryn grew up in Chicago, Illinois. Interestingly, Cooper and his now wife both attended college at Central Michigan University, but didn’t meet there. Lauryn graduated before Rush, and they actually met in Chicago in 2017 when she was working as an account executive. She now calls herself a domestic engineer on her Instagram.
The same year that Rush and Lauryn met, Rush joined the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent, and Lauryn started sharing photos of the two together on Instagram.
Just two years later in 2019, the couple announced their engagement. In May of 2020, Rush was waived by the Cowboys when they signed former Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton. He was claimed by the New York Giants later that month. Then, just a month later, in June 2020, he married Lauryn.
As the couple got married in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic, Lauryn admitted to feeling some guilt in an Instagram post.
Just five months after the wedding, the couple announced they were pregnant with their first child.
In April 2021, their daughter, Ayla Patricia arrived into the world. She is now three years old.
Since then, Rush was dropped by the Giants and re-signed with the Cowboys and was the hero for the team when Prescott injured his ankle in 2022. Through all the ups and downs, Lauryn has been by his side defending him and supporting him.
