Titans’ Hassan Haskins charged with aggravated assault but what did he do?
In what appears to have been a domestic dispute turned violent, the Titans player now faces serious charges, meaning if convicted the consequences could be severe.
The Titans running back has found himself on the wrong side of the law and it’s most definitely not for something minor. What this means for his career, far less his life remains to be seen at this time but it’s almost certainly not going to be something pleasant.
Titans’ Hassan Haskins charged with assault
According to Metro Nashville Police and court documents, Tennessee Titans running back Hassan Haskins was arrested and charged with aggravated assault by strangulation on Thursday, and was later released after posting a $10,000 bond. For their part, the Titans released a statement on Friday, stating: “We are aware of the situation and gathering additional information.”
As per police records, Haskins became angry after his girlfriend “liked” another man’s Instagram photo on June 22. The woman in question went on to explain that after the argument began, she went into a closet and threw Haskins’ shoes on the ground. In response, Haskins entered the closet while telling her to stop touching his things. He then pushed her to the ground which resulted in her hitting her head according to the affidavit. The victim also explained that she tried to fight back, at which point he grabbed and pulled her out of the closet before pushing her onto the bed. He then began to strangle her with both hands. Though she admitted that she was unsure as to how long the strangling lasted, she explained to police that she believed it was 10 to 15 seconds. It is understood that the fight continued during which time the victim stood up and slapped Haskins after he had stopped strangling her. He then responded by slapping her and throwing her to the ground, which resulted in her falling on a dog crate. Once again he strangled her before finally letting her go and leaving the house according to her statement.
Hassan Haskins and his girlfriend have a violent relationship
It’s worth noting that just days later on June 29th, the couple was involved in yet another violent incident. This time Haskins’ girlfriend was also arrested and charged with the same charge he now faces, however, she also received a charge of felony vandalism. It is understood that she post a bond of $7,500 before being released. As per reports, Haskins is set for a court appearance on July 10th.
