Titans vs Packers: predictions, picks and odds for Thursday Night Football week 11
ANDY LYONSAFP

‘Thursday Night Football’ is upon us in NFL’s Week 11 and we’re taking a look at the odds and predictions for the Green Bay Packers clash with the Tennessee Titans. Let’s dive in!

Titas vs Packers: The lay of the land

Though their 4-6 record isn’t exactly something to shout about, the Packers managed to keep their playoff hopes alive with a dramatic overtime victory over the Dallas Cowboys last Sunday in Week 10. Needless to say, the win also relieved some of the building pressure on quarterback Aaron Rodgers to deliver. Standing in front of them this week, are the AFC South leading Tennessee Titans who sit on a 6-3 record. Having won six of their last seven games, including a win over the Broncos in Week 10, the Titans are also looking to maintain their march to the post season.

The Derrick Henry problem

Let’s be clear: Tennessee’s running back Derrick Henry is currently ranked No. 2 in the league in rushing yards (923) and rushing touchdowns (nine), with a top-five mark in yards from scrimmage to boot. In five of his last six games, Henry has at least 100 rushing yards. Aside from the obvious threat he poses, it’s also worth noting that Green Bay is exactly the kind of team that is not built to deal with it. At present, the Packers are ranked No. 26 in the NFL in rushing yards allowed and No. 28 in yards allowed per carry. That’s all to say, the Packers are going to have their hands full with Henry and that could prove to be a real problem.

Have the Packers woken up?

We’ve been kept waiting, but it would appear that the Packers finally found their rhythm in Week 10. Having defeated the highly favored Dallas Cowboys in overtime, it must be said that Green Bay showcased an efficient running game along with a stellar performance from rookie wide receiver Christian Watson who posted a more than impressive 100 yards and three receiving touchdowns on the night. With that, Aaron Rodgers now has a solid option on the outside, which can only be a good thing for a team that is already above the NFL average with 3,500 total yards for the season so far. To be clear, Green Bay has 17 passing touchdowns - sixth-most in the league - and is averaging 4.9 yards per carry on the ground. With a significantly improved passer rating following their home win against Dallas, expect Rodgers to bring more of the same on Thursday night.

Titans vs Packers: The Odds

Following their victory against Dallas, the Packers are definitely on the up in terms of odds. Strange to think, that with the defending MVP in their ranks and some choice weapons on the outside, Green Bay is only sitting on a 4-6 record. If they’re to improve on that, they will need to pay close attention to the Titans running back Derrick Henry who has been lethal of late. With no further delays, here are the odds for Thursday night’s game between the Titans and the Packers:

Titans vs Packers: The Prediction

We’ve mentioned the Titans running game, we’ve talked about Aaron Rodgers improvement and the emergence of a sensational wideout in Green Bay’s rookie, Christian Watson. That’s all to say we expect this one to be relatively close, but finally we’re going to go with a Packers win in Week 11 to take them to a 4-7 record and back into the playoff picture. The Packers will host the Titans at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wisconsin for ‘Thursday Night Football,’ with kickoff set for 8:15 p.m. Et.
