Tom Brady left Tampa Bay Buccaneers training camp a week ago for personal reasons and requested a 10-day leave of absence. However, head coach Todd Bowles stated that there is no definite date for his return.

When Bowles was asked about the exact date for TB12's return, the head coach responded that “I'm not worried about it. We're trying to practice against Tennessee and win the game. I said a while after Tennessee. There is no definite date for me. We'll keep in touch and find out."

The proposed date for Brady's return to training was August 20, the same day as the Bucs-Titans matchup in the second week of preseason.

Who would take the place of TB12?

During Tom Brady's absence, Blaine Gabbert has taken over the starting quarterback position during joint practices with the Titans. In the preseason game, the eight-year veteran completed all five passes he attempted for 56 yards and recorded a touchdown.

Bowles stated after practice Thursday that Gabbert is focused on making the right plays and not the amazing ones. The former QB of the Jaguars, Niners, Cardinals and Titans has thrown for 9,273 yards, 50 TDs and 47 interceptions in his career.

“It’s been great for him mentally. Plays aren’t right all the time, but mental replays and making the right plays is important, not just the amazing play. He’s making the right play and it’s great to have him here.”
