Tom Brady’s 2022 season: Problems on and off the field

At 45 years of age, Tom Brady is still a very capable QB, but maybe it is time for the GOAT to call it quits after the loss against the Cowboys.

Tom Brady, who had previously announced his retirement from the NFL, has decided to come back for the 2022 season. But was it really worth it for Brady to return, even after all this success?

However, Tom Brady hasn’t been at his best. Three of Tom Brady’s greatest missteps during the 2022 NFL season are listed below.

The ex-New England Patriots QB mistakes this 2022 season

Tom Brady has notoriously rested more than usual throughout the week this season. Even if his age (45) may provide some leeway, one may argue that this affects his performance.

Tom Brady’s failure to convince Rob Gronkowski to play another season was a critical error on his part. Gronkowski was one of Brady’s most valuable weapons in the NFL. At the end of their tenure together with the Patriots and the Buccaneers, Brady had thrown 90 touchdown passes to Gronkowski. That’s good for the second all-time in the NFL during a regular season, and it shows just how much Brady misses Gronkowski. Through five games, the Buccaneers’ leading tight end in yards is Cameron Brate, who has 100.

On the surface, it would seem that the return of Tom Brady was good news for the supporters of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. However, with head coach Bruce Arians’ departure and other personnel changes, this may have been the best moment for Brady to hang up his cleats.

We’ve all heard that Brady’s football career put a strain on his marriage. Therefore, it’s possible that his leaving was the best option for everyone involved. Brady has never had to worry about money, yet he kept coming back for the game.

Like Peyton Manning, Brady is eager to retire. After winning the 2015 Super Bowl with the Denver Broncos in February, Manning announced his retirement. So maybe it is a good moment for the GOAT to leave the game after this loss against the Cowboys.
