Tony Romo has bold warning for the NFC after Cowboys’ shocking win

Don’t look now, but the Dallas Cowboys have won three in a row, and that confidence level is getting dangerously high from some fans.

Update:

The Dallas Cowboys must’ve eaten their Thanksgiving Wheaties, because they went out on national television and did something most of America thought was mathematically impossible: they beat Patrick Mahomes in a game that actually mattered.

Dallas walked into Week 13 sitting at 5–5–1, hanging onto their playoff hopes like a phone at 1%, and walked out with a season-saving 6–5–1 record.

Cowboys get surprising message from Tony Romo after Thanksgiving win

In the span of six days, the Cowboys didn’t just beat any team. They beat both Super Bowl teams from last season. First the Eagles, then the Chiefs. That’s a first in NFL history, by the way. And if you predicted that run three weeks ago, you’re either a time traveler or a liar.

Even former Cowboys quarterback and current CBS voice Tony Romo couldn’t hide how shocked he was (and if you’ve ever watched a Romo broadcast, you know the man does not hide his excitement well).

“Just a huge performance,” Romo said. “Your season was on the line. Losing that game and they’re probably out… and they won.

This is the part where Cowboys fans get nervous, because any sentence that starts with “Dallas could be dangerous…” has historically ended with heartache and a pick-six. But Romo went there anyway.

After beating Philly and Kansas City, Romo said Dallas has positioned itself for a massive statement game in Week 14, a road matchup vs the Detroit Lions.

“They’ll be favored in every game for the rest of the year [if they beat the Lions]. They can go on a run, and if they get in the playoffs, this is a very dangerous team,” Romo said.

The Lions, who are currently sitting at No. 8 in the NFC, are the exact team Dallas needs to climb over. A win in Detroit wouldn’t just keep the Cowboys alive, but it would launch them to the edge of the playoff picture at No. 8, just one spot out.
