Top 10 must-watch NFL games in 2022

It’s not football season yet, but it’s never too soon to get excited. Here’s a preview of some of the best NFL games you just simply cannot miss in 2022.

Update:

The countdown to football season is on…or at least my personal one is. 48 days stand between now and the start of the NFL season, and in the meantime, we’re looking ahead to the best games of the season. This season will again be 18 weeks long with 272 games played during the regular season. There are always lots of exciting matchups in the NFL, but we’ve chosen the top 10 can’t-miss games of the regular season, in chronological order.

Buffalo Bills at LA Rams

Week 1 TNF - September 8, 8:20 p.m. ET

The first game of the regular season is an absolute must-watch! The defending Super Bowl champs will host the 2021 AFC East champs in Los Angeles, where last season ended and the Super Bowl was won. Bills quarterback Josh Allen is getting better each year and watching him and Matt Stafford in one game is a treat. In this game, we have the added factor of Von Miller, who won the Super Bowl with the Rams but will now play against them on the Bills team to open the season.

Denver Broncos at Seattle Seahawks

Week 1 MNF - September 12, 8:15 p.m. ET

Russell Wilson will be back in Seattle, but this time as the quarterback for the Denver Broncos. Wilson took the Seahawks to eight playoffs, two Super Bowls, and brought them one Super Bowl victory during his time with on the team. This Monday Night showdown will be the first time the two teams have met since 2018 and

Green Bay Packers at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Week 3 - Sunday, September 25, 4:25 p.m. ET

Tom Brady vs Aaron Rodgers is always going to be entertaining. The two quarterbacks’ futures in the NFL seemed uncertain last season, but here they both are again in 2022. The teams faced each other in the NFC title game in 2021 which saw the Bucs win and head to the Super Bowl. The Packers will be looking for revenge.

Kansas City Chiefs at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Week 4 SNF - October 2, 8:20 p.m. ET

Patrick Mahomes, young, new superstar, and Tom Brady, the original quarterback hero, never fail to thrill when they meet up. A Super Bowl LV rematch is a must-see, sí or sí. The NFL agrees this is going to be a good one, since it’s got the SNF slot in week four. These two quarterbacks have met five times and every time, it’s been a game. Brady won one regular-season game, the 2018 AFC Championship, and Super Bowl LV. Mahomes has won two regular-season games against Brady.

Buffalo Bills at Kansas City Chiefs

Week 6 - Sunday, October 16, 4:25 p.m. ET

If you’ll recall, the AFC divisional playoff game between thew Bills and the Chiefs last season was one of the craziest we’d seen in the NFL in a while. In that game, both Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes threw for over 300 yards, scored three touchdowns, rushed for over 50 yards, and neither threw an interception. The Chiefs won 42-36, and now it’s the Bills turn, they hope.

Dallas Cowboys at Green Bay Packers

Week 10 - Sunday, November 13, 4:25 p.m. ET

It’s America’s team - they had to be on the list. Both the Cowboys and the Bengals are likely to be playoff contenders, and watching how Joe Burrow and Micah Parsons fare against each other is bound to keep you watching.

Kansas City Chiefs at Cincinnati Bengals

Week 13 - Sunday, December 4, 4:25 p.m. ET

Here we have yet another revenge game when the Chiefs take on the Bengals. Last year, the Chiefs lost to the Bengals in the AFC Championship game, which saw the Bengals moving on to the Super Bowl. Now Mahomes will have to take on the Bengals team in Cincinnati.

New England Patriots at Las Vegas Raiders

Week 15 - Sunday, December 18, 8:20 p.m. ET

Patriots coach Bill Belichick will face his former offensive coordinator, Josh McDaniels, who is now the head coach for the Raiders. Mac Jones continues his quest to prove his worthiness and a road win against his old OC would surely help that along.

Denver Broncos at LA Rams

Week 16 Christmas Day - Sunday, December 25, 4:30 p.m. ET

Reigning Super Bowl champs versus Russell Wilson on Christmas Day? Yes, please! The Broncos will have their work cut out for them taking on Matt Stafford, Cooper Kupp, Aaron Donald, and Jalen Ramsey.

Buffalo Bills at Cincinnati Bengals

Week 17 MNF - January 2, 8:30 p.m. ET

The last Monday Night Football game of the season will see Josh Allen and Joe Burrow face off in a possibly very high-scoring matchup. Of course, the defense on both these teams are good enough to stop that happening. It will be a thriller on both sides of the field.
