Trade interest growing for Alvin Kamara
Several NFL teams have shown an interest in acquiring the five-time Pro Bowler, who is under contract through the 2026 season.

Alvin Kamara remains one of the NFL’s most dynamic offensive weapons, but with the New Orleans Saints no longer seen as serious contenders for the Lombardi Trophy, the veteran running back has become a valuable trade chip in what could be a fast-track rebuild for the franchise.
According to NFL Network, multiple teams have expressed interest in acquiring Kamara via trade. However, the five-time Pro Bowler has made it clear he wants to stay put.
Saints GM Mickey Loomis reportedly informed Kamara—who wears No. 41—that his skill set has drawn attention across the league, but the 30-year-old insists on remaining in Louisiana.

2025 season snapshot
Kamara has played in all five of the Saints’ games this season, racking up 360 yards from scrimmage on 90 touches. He scored a rushing touchdown in Week 1 against the Arizona Cardinals but hasn’t found the end zone since.
The former Tennessee Volunteer has been splitting backfield duties with third-year back Kendre Miller. Wearing No. 5, Miller has logged 38 carries for 165 yards and a touchdown, showing flashes of potential that could eventually make Kamara expendable.

Contract breakdown
Kamara is under contract through the 2026 season after signing a two-year, $24.5 million extension in 2024. However, due to previous contract restructures, his cap hit will linger on the Saints’ books through 2028. For the 2025 season, Kamara is earning a base salary of $2.6 million, along with a $3.1 million signing bonus.
With the trade deadline approaching and the Saints evaluating their long-term outlook, Kamara’s future in New Orleans remains uncertain. But for now, he’s made it clear—he’s not ready to leave the Big Easy.
