Travis and Jason Kelce have created their own cereal? What’s in it and what’s it called?
Super Bowl-winning brothers Travis and Jason Kelce have teamed up with General Mills to blend their favourite cereals into a new combo.
Super Bowl winners Travis and Jason Kelce have joined forces with the food company General Mills to create Kelce Mix - a combination of the brothers’ most beloved breakfast cereals.
“The only thing Travis and I know more about than football is cereal - so we’re honored to take home the victory and consider ourselves officially inducted into cereal culture with Kelce Mix,” Jason said in a press release.
Travis added: “Our creation might just be the new MVP of the cereal aisle. We’d go through two to three boxes of our favorite cereals a week when we were growing up, so being able to team up with General Mills now is a full circle moment for us.”
What’s in Kelce Mix?
Kelce Mix is a blend of three classic General Mills cereals: Reese’s Puffs, Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Lucky Charms. A box of the cereal, which is to be released in September, will retail at a price of $5.96, according to reports in the US media.
In addition to creating a new cereal combo with the Kelces, General Mills is to place photos and likenesses of the siblings on special-edition boxes of Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Reese’s Puffs, Honey Nut Cheerios and Lucky Charms.
Kelces list top cereals on podcast
The Kelces’ collaboration with General Mills comes after the brothers ranked their top cereals on their podcast “New Heights” last December. Both named Reese’s Puffs as their all-time favourite, with Travis naming Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Lucky Charms at second and third, respectively, and Jason picking the same two cereals in the opposite order.
“It’s the best,” Travis said of Reese’s Puffs. “I could eat a whole box right now. Literally an entire box. I could put in a popcorn bowl and just f**king add an entire gallon of milk to it.”
Travis a serial cereal creator
This is not the first time that the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, who has been dating pop icon Taylor Swift since late last year, has partnered with a major company to make his own cereal. In 2022, the 34-year-old teamed up with the grocery chain Hy-Vee to create Kelce’s Krunch, as part of an endorsement deal running until 2025.
The sale of Kelce’s Krunch sought to raise money for the Chiefs star’s 87 & Running Foundation, which provides support to disadvantaged youths.
A three-time Super Bowl champion and nine-time Pro Bowler, Travis Kelce is preparing for his 12th NFL season since being drafted by Kansas City in 2013. Jason, who was a Super Bowl LII winner with the Philadelphia Eagles, retired from playing in March, ending a 13-season professional career spent in its entirety with the Pennsylvanian franchise.
