Travis Hunter’s insane daily schedule proves he’s all in

Too much work? Not for Jacksonville Jaguars rookie Travis Hunter, who is already making history with his NFL preseason debut, and he’s just getting started.

Update:

The Jacksonville Jaguars will play their first preseason game this Saturday against the Pittsburgh Steelers and all eyes will be on rookie Travis Hunter. Head coach Liam Coen confirmed that Hunter will make his debut as a two-way player, playing at both wide receiver and cornerback.

Heisman? Check. Two-way NFL star? In progress.

In his first full training camp with the Jaguars, the Heisman winner has been splitting snaps on both offense and defense, playing wide receiver and cornerback - a feat the NFL hasn’t seen in decades.

Hunter’s workload is no joke: packed days full of meetings, reps, and walk-throughs, all while flashing the same two-way brilliance he showed under coach Deion Sanders at Colorado. On Tuesday alone, he logged 19 snaps (10 offense, 9 defense) in team drills, and still had energy left to sign autographs and attend multiple meetings.

Jaguars head coach Liam Coen is fine-tuning Hunter’s usage, calling it a “revolving door” to find the sweet spot. But the team’s commitment is clear. Hunter is listed as a starting WR and backup CB on the official depth chart, and Coen even suggested he could play 80% of snaps once the season starts.

Hall of Famer and Jaguars EVP Tony Boselli initially had doubts...until he met Hunter. “If anybody can do it, this guy can,” Boselli said. “He doesn’t like football - he loves it.”

As for Hunter? He’s unfazed by the expectations. “I’m just out here playing football,” he said, grinning. “Doing what I’ve got to do to help my team win.”
