Travis Kelce lands first major acting role in “Grotesquerie”: what do we know?
The Chiefs tight end continues to follow Taylor Swift into the entertainment industry after being cast in Ryan Murphy’s horror series.
Not satisfied with being one of the greatest tight ends in NFL history, a three-time Super Bowl champion, a game show and podcast host, Kansas City Chiefs star Travis Kelce is now following girlfriend Taylor Swift further into the entertainment industry after landing his first major acting role.
Who will be starring alongside Kelce in “Grotesquerie”?
Actress Niecy Nash revealed on Instagram that Kelce would be appearing alongside her in “Grotesquerie,” an upcoming horror series produced by Ryan Murphy, of “Glee” and “American Horror Story” fame. The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed the NFL star’s casting, as well as that of Courtney B. Vance and Lesley Manville.
“Guys, guess who I’m working with on “Grotesquerie?” a laughing Nash asks in her social media clip. A delighted Kelce swiftly appears in shot, saying he’s “jumping into new territory with Niecy”.
That’s what we do know. What we don’t have, however, are many details about the 34-year-old’s involvement.
When will “Grotesquerie” premiere? Where can I watch it?
“Grotesquerie” was teased as a surprise series for FX back in February, very much in keeping with Murphy’s modus operandi. Nash, Vance and Manville were revealed as three of its stars, with the first of the trio adding her voice, in what sounds like a phone call, to an eerie teaser video on social media, which otherwise only contains text on black background.
We’ll have to wait a little longer to find out just what role Kelce will be playing, with his involvement confirmed but remaining top secret.
The series is expected to premiere on FX in the fall, by which time the Chiefs star will be back on on the field, with the 2024 NFL season getting underway in September. It certainly sounds as if he’ll be keeping himself busy enough until the football action gets going again, one way or another.
