Travis Kelce’s frustrations boil over: “You put in all this f****** work”
The Kansas City Chiefs are on the brink of postseason absence for the first time since the 2014 season.

For the first time in a decade, the Kansas City Chiefs are in real danger of missing out on the NFL playoffs. The Chiefs dropped to a 6-7 record with the recent loss to the Houston Texans, a significant blow for the team’s postseason chances.
Veteran running back Travis Kelce has been a key part of the Chiefs’ success under head coach Andy Reid, winning three Super Bowls with the team. But it was Kelce, now 36 years old, who made a crucial blunder against the Texans, dropping a routine pass in the fourth quarter.
Kelce did not speak to reporters in the immediate aftermath of the game but he addressed his frustrations in a recent episode of his ‘New Heights’ podcast. He gave a brutally honest assessment of his struggles this year.

“You put in all this f****** work and hope that it pays off. And right now, it’s just for whatever f****** reason, man, it’s little things,” Kelce said. “I feel like I’ve always had the answers in years past. And this year, I just can’t find them.”
“I keep thinking if I show up to work and I put in the work and I fix the issues through my practice habits and through perfecting the game plan and my fundamentals and what I’m being taught and go out there and try and play my ass off for my guys next to me, it’s all going to come together like it has in years past. And this year is just not, man.”
This Chiefs dynasty has been one of the most dominant in NFL history. Led by quarterback Patrick Mahomes, Kansas City has appeared in five of the last six Super Bowls and won three of them. However there is now a sense that this may be a transition season for the team, with Kelce’s future beyond this year unclear.
But regardless of his plans for 2026, Kelce will be desperate to get his performances back on track and help his team avoid the ignominy of a losing record on the season.
