Bengals end Trey Hendrickson contract standoff with surprise move

With just over a week to go before the start of the NFL regular season, the Bengals have agreed to a deal with Hendrickson. According to NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport, Hendrickson has agreed to a revised deal that gives him a significant raise for this year.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Hendrickson will receive a $14 million raise in 2025 for a total annual salary of $30 million. Still, he’ll be set to become a free agent at the end of the season.

While the Bengals had been open to a high annual salary on a short-term basis, Hendrickson had pushed for long-term security with more guaranteed money. Instead, the compromise appears to be a one-year bump in pay, leaving questions about his future beyond 2025 still unresolved.
