Tyreek Hill makes surprise return to Dolphins practice facility
The Miami Dolphins wide receiver suffered a horrific knee injury in Monday’s win over the New York Jets.

The Miami Dolphins team meeting on Friday featured a surprise appearance from Tyreek Hill, just days after the wide receiver suffered a season-ending knee injury.
Hill suffered a dislocated left knee in the Monday night win over the New York Jets. He underwent surgery earlier this week and will not play for the team again this season. However he was quickly back at the team facility to give some words of encouragement.
“Tyreek was in the building today,” Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel said. “He came into the team meeting and made sure that the guys were continuing to stay motivated to have complementary football with 11 players playing as one in three phases over the course of the game.”
On Friday McDaniel was asked how the team would manage without Hill, who has been a key part of the team’s offensive play since his arrival in 2022. He replied: “I think when you lose players of that magnitude, it’s never done with one human being. It’s the execution of the overall group at all positions that make up the difference. And I have a bunch of motivated football players.”

Hill’s arrival in Miami immediately changed the trajectory of the Dolphins offense. Since being acquired from the Kansas City Chiefs in 2022, Hill has been one of the most productive WRs in the league and his exceptional speed has given more opportunities for quarterback Tua Tagovailoa to impress.
In his first season with Miami, Hill shattered franchise records with 119 receptions and 1,710 receiving yards. In 2023 he was arguably even better, pushing toward the rare milestone of 2,000 yards in a single season. His form helped to reestablish the Dolphins as legitimate contenders in the AFC.
Hill’s performances dropped off in 2024 and he was heavily linked with an exit after the team failed to make the playoffs last year. But his play helped to bring a swagger back to Hard Rock Stadium and a player of his talent will be sorely missed.
