Updated 2025 NFL Draft order - where do Cowboys pick after Week 16?

The Dallas Cowboys lost their chances of a playoff berth before the game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers even started on Sunday night. They had a less than 1% chance of making it in as it was, but the Washington Commanders' last-second victory over the Philadelphia Eagles sealed their fate.

Still, the Cowboys did not lie down and give up. They fought hard to get a win over the Bucs on Sunday at AT&T Stadium. While it’s nice to see that grit, those who are hoping for a higher draft pick may have preferred Dallas to just lose out from here. Alas, the players, coaches, and staff have repeated time and again this season, they are not that kind of team. But the win did indeed drop them down in the draft order.

Updated NFL Draft order after Cowboys Week 16 playoff elimination

The Cowboys are now 7-8 after their win over the Bucs, dropping them down to the 15th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft if the season were to end today.

The Cowboys’ divisional rivals New York Giants, who have just two wins this season after another loss to the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday, have kept their possession of the No. 1 overall pick.

The 2025 NFL Draft will take place in Green Bay, Wisconsin over three days from Thursday, April 24 to Saturday, April 26. The first round will take place Thursday, the second and third on Friday, and the final four on Saturday.
