Update:

Thursday Night Football brought a huge win for the Houston Texans, moving to a 6-5 record with an impressive victory over the Buffalo Bills.

The Bills were widely tipped as Super Bowl contenders ahead of the season but they were well-shackled by the Texans defense on Thursday. Houston’s NFL-best defense sacked Josh Allen eight times in the win, the most that he has suffered in a single NFL game.

The Texans are now in with a real chance of an AFC playoff birth and the team celebrated with a very appropriate choice of postgame meal on Thursday.

Speaking after the win, Houston pass-rusher Will Anderson Jr. spoke to reporters about the Texans’ success against Buffalo.

“I think it was just everybody executing on defense, everybody being on the same page,” Anderson explained. “I love this group because we’re relentless, we’re persistent. We persevere through anything. Any turnover, any first down they get, this defense and this team just keeps going. That’s what I love about this team.”

The Texans picked up the win despite the absence of starting quarterback C.J. Stroud, who remains sidelined while he works through the NFL’s concussion protocol. Backup Davis Mills impressed again at quarterback, but he denied that he is pushing to replace Stroud on a permanent basis.

“In my current situation, I don’t think there’s a competition,” Mills told reporters. “C.J.’s the starter for this team. I’m just doing everything I can to bring my best foot forward every day. Make everyone else around me better and try to provide and play my role to my best ability when I get thrown in there.”
