Washington Commanders’ Jonathan Allen lost his cool after loss New York Giants. What did he say?

If it wasn’t already clear that things are not going well in Washington, the Commander’s defensive tackle made that glaringly so following Sunday’s loss.

Though things have changed in the front office, they remain largely the same on the field. Needless to say, that’s not a good thing for a franchise that’s attempting to rebuild itself now that it has a new lease on life.

Commanders’ Jonathan Allen has had enough

If you caught Sunday’s game between the Washington Commanders and the New York Giants and you managed to watch till the end we commend you. Not only was the game a level of poor rarely seen, evidenced by the 18 combined punts between the two teams, but the Commanders in particular showcased an offensive prowess that was horrible at best and painful to watch at worst. Consider for a moment, that quarterback Sam Howell and his teammates managed to generate 1-for-15 on third downs, and 1-for-3 in the red zone in a game that they lost 14-7.

As you can imagine, many of the Commanders’ players weren’t in the best mood following the defeat. Speaking with the media, Washington’s Jonathan Allen was asked for his opinion post-game on what went wrong. “They whooped our ass. Plain and simple. Gotta be better, " the defensive tackle said. A fair assessment, but Allen was then asked if such things were “frustrating” and it was at that point that he lost his restraint. “F**k yes it does,” Allen replied. “I’m f*****g tired of this shit. F*****g tired of this bullsh*t. It’s been seven f*****g years of the same sh*t. I’m tired of this sh*t.”

*You can see the clip below but as you already know it contains abusive language.*

It’s been a while for the Washington Commanders

The “same sh*t” that Allen refers to is of course a reference to the fact that the Commanders have not posted a winning season since 2016. They now sit on a record of 3-4 and by the looks of things are set to do the same once again, an idea which is made more crushing by the fact that the franchise was recently acquired by a Josh Harris-led consortium. Indeed, following years under the stewardship of Daniel Snyder, who was forced to sell amid a number of allegations related to workplace misconduct, The Commanders had hoped for a new beginning. Sadly, that doesn’t appear to be the case i.e., you can expect significant changes in the near future. From head coach Ron Rivera to Allen and Co., they will all have to know that their place in the team is not secure.
