What caused the fire at the Dallas Cowboys training camp hotel? Were there any injuries?
A scary moment occurred at the Dallas Cowboys’ hotel in Oxnard, California when a fire broke out in one of the rooms. Thankfully, no one was hurt.

On Tuesday, a fire occurred at the River Ridge Residence Inn where the Dallas Cowboys football team is staying during their training camp in Oxnard, California.
Fortunately, there were no injuries as the whole team was away from the hotel at the time, preparing for their late-afternoon walk-through. The only guests staying at the hotel currently are Cowboys players and staff members (no one from the general public is allowed in during the Cowboys’ training camp), so no guests were in the building when the fire occurred.

The Cowboys say the fire was in only one building, and that no one was hurt. The team is continuing forward with their walkthrough, as this is happening. pic.twitter.com/o1AoPpl7YX
What caused the fire?
The fire started in one of the guests rooms, which was unoccupied, and was contained to that one room. The Oxnard Fire Department and Police Department acted quickly to arrive and put out the fire. It is currently not clear what exactly caused the fire, but Oxnard deputy city manager Katie Casey says that the cause is under investigation.
Dallas held their first training camp in Oxnard in 2004 and has been holding it there annually since 2012. The fire did not cause any disruptions to the Cowboys’ practice schedule. Their last padded practice will be held this morning (Wednesday) and they will head back to Texas to finish up training camp at The Star in Frisco on Thursday.
The Cowboys will host the Los Angeles Chargers for their final preseason game on Saturday at AT&T Stadium.
