What did Tom Brady send WNBA superstar Kelsey Plum as a gift?
The greatest quarterback of all time had a fun interaction with Las Vegas Aces’ star Plum, both during a game and sending her some stuff after it.
Kelsey Plum is the reigning Sixth Woman of the Year in the WNBA, forging her own path after being drafted number one overall in 2017 and already an All-Star and Olympic gold medalist at the age of 27. That does not mean that she doesn’t have role models though, and who better than seven-time Super Bowl winning QB Tom Brady?
Kelsey Plum barked at Brady before a game
Back on May 31st at Michelob ULTRA Arena, the home of the Las Vegas Aces, Tom Brady was present to watch one of the best teams in the NBA play at home against the Connecticut Sun. 2020 WNBA MVP A’ja Wilson and other players recognized Brady, but none had showed the same enthusiasm as Plum seeing the Bucs’ QB.
She tried to play it cool at first, as she later explained, but ended up saying “screw it” and telling Brady how big of a fan of his she is, “man, you’re a dog, I love you”, before eventually… barking at him. That’s how Wilson recounted the episode at least, one that Plum said she expected Brady “never to forget”. Almost two months later is seems he certainly did not.
Gifts from Brady to Plum, star to star
In a video Plum posted on her Instagram, her fans could see her opening a big box filled with Brady-related objects the QB had decided to gift her. Her happiness was more than obvious when she got to see a Bucs’ number 12 jersey in which the GOAT had left her a couple of messages. “Kelsey, you are amazing” he scribbled over the white number one, with “good luck” and his catchphrase “L.F.G.!” on the number two.
The Las Vegas Aces’ guard started laughing and jumping after reading this final phrase before putting on the jersey and some sweatpants that were also in the box. This beautiful connection between these great athletes did not end there as Brady saw her reaction posted on Twitter and reshared it after adding one more #LFG.
Both Brady and Plum have work ahead
Plum and her team are poised to make the playoffs as the number one seed in the Western Conference of the WNBA while Brady and the Bucs are starting to ramp up their preparation for the NFL season, which starts in less than a month and could, once again, be the NFL great’s last.
