COWBOYS
What did Trevon Diggs say about being left off Top-10 CB list?
Cowboys star cornerback Trevon Diggs was snubbed from ESPN’s top 10 cornerbacks list and he just had one thing to say about that.
It was somewhat surprising to see Dallas Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs left off of a list of top 10 NFL cornerbacks. But on Thursday, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler released a poll with that list, and Diggs was nowhere to be found.
The list was compiled from a poll of NFL coaches, executives, and scouts. The number one cornerback on the list was Denver Broncos’ Patrick Surtain II. Here’s the rest of the list:
Why was Diggs left of ESPN’s top 10 CBs list?
Trevon Diggs is undoubtedly one of the league’s best cornerbacks. In his career, he’s logged 18 interceptions, 11 of which came in his All-Pro 2021 season. But the ACL injury he suffered last season really put a damper on things. He missed almost the entire season with that injury, and one AFC executive said that made him “hard to place”, though he did acknowledge that Diggs is “still one of the best ball hawks”.
What did Diggs say about being left off the list?
Diggs had just one word to say about being left off the list: “Comical.”
Diggs posted the comment to X on Thursday after the list was released. Teammate Micah Parsons came to his defense as well, responding with the comment, “I don’t think players should be the only ones getting drug tested 7!”
Another Cowboys player who was snubbed from the list was DaRon Bland, who logged an NFL record five interceptions for a touchdown last season and was given a PFF grade of 90.4, the second-highest of all cornerbacks. Both will be out to prove why they deserve to be on that list at the start of this 2024 NFL season.
