Tua Tagovailoa has often been questioned during his time at the Miami Dolphins and many analysts believe this may be the former Alabama quarterback’s final season as starter, but the 24-year-old has received the backing of Tyreek Hill, who said he wold take the Dolphins shot-caller over Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes.

Hill traded to the Dolphins in March after six seasons and a Super Bowl with the Chiefs, signing a deal that made him the highest-paid wide receiver in the NFL. Speaking on the installment of his new podcast “It Needed to be Said,” Hill said in his opinion that Tagovailoa was more accurate than Mahomes.

Hill: “Accuracy-wise, I’m going with Tua all day”

Bro, he has a heck of an arm, bro. He’s accurate. He can throw the deep ball, and he actually goes through his reads, where people are like on Twitter like saying, ‘Oh, he doesn’t go through his reads.’ Man, this dude is that dude. Tua or Patrick Mahomes? Obviously, like I’m gonna go with 15 [Mahomes] as the strongest arm, but as far as accuracy-wise, I’m going with Tua all day.”

According to the statisticians, the numbers bear out Hill’s assertion, although not by much. Since he arrived in the NFL, Mahomes has a pass completion rate of 66.1%, compared to 66.2% for Tagovailoa, who has been a professional for two years.

Hill “wasn’t fully appreciated” at Chiefs

Drew Rosenhaus, Hill’s agent, also explained the motives that saw “The Cheetah” move from the Chiefs to the Dolphins. Among the issues was the way in which Eric Bienemy used the receiver in Kansas’ offensive scheme last season.

There was a lot of times during the year that we felt that Tyreek was underutilized and wasn’t fully appreciated and that they really weren’t taking full advantage of all his ability and talent,” Rosenhaus said on Hill’s podcast.
