What do we know about Bengals offensive analyst Adam Zimmer’s death?

With the sad news coming out of Cincinnati, the NFL and its fans can only reflect on a life that certainly ended too soon.

Bengals’ Adam Zimmer passes away at 38

According to reports on Tuesday, Cincinnati Bengals offensive analyst Adam Zimmer has died. To date, there has been no official word on Zimmer’s cause of death. At 38-years-old, Zimmer joined the Bengals back in July. Prior to his time in Cincinnati, he worked as the co-defensive coordinator for the Minnesota Vikings. Incidentally, Zimmer won a Super Bowl with the New Orleans Saints in the 2009-2010 season as a linebackers coach. It was there, that he actually started his NFL coaching career three years earlier in 2006.

It’s no wonder, that Adam Zimmer’s life was one that involved football. A long-time NFL coach, Zimmer’s father, Mike Zimmer, was in fact the head coach of the Minnesota Vikings from 2014 until 2021. During his entire tenure, Adam was there for each twist and turn. Sadly, Zimmer’s mother, Vicki, also passed away rather unexpectedly in 2009 at the age of 50. Regarding his family, Zimmer’s sister, Corri, took to social media on Tuesday morning, where she posted a message in honor of her late brother.

“My brother was one of my best friends, especially after my mom died, we became so close,” Corri Zimmer wrote. “He was always there for me and always the first to show up and volunteer at my foundation events...I never even had to ask. Always telling me what a good job I did and how proud he was of me.” Zimmer was also remembered by Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins who took to Twitter to pay his respects to Adam and the Zimmer family. “Deeply saddened by the news of Adam Zimmer…tremendous coach & person. Had the privilege of sitting next to him flying back from games. Learned so much. Praying for the Zimmer family.”
