Given that the QB already had to face 24 civil suits, one has to wonder whether or not there are even more to come now that yet another woman has file one against the Browns QB.

25th woman files civil suit against Browns’ Deshaun Watson

It might be, that Deshaun Watson was feeling somewhat more positive in recent times. Though he’s only halfway through his 11-game NFL suspension, he was recently allowed to return to the Browns facilities. That possibility, however likely no longer exists as reports on Thursday confirmed that yet another female massage therapist filed a new civil suit against the Browns quarterback. With that, the number of civil suits brought against Watson over the last two years now stands at 25. It is understood, that the woman in question filed the suit in Houston’s Harris County District Court accusing the Watson of sexual misconduct. It should be said, that the under fire QB reached confidential settlements in all but one of the aforementioned suits.

What do we know about Deshaun Watson’s accuser and her suit?

As per reports, Watson’s newest accuser - she is as yet unnamed - alleges that Watson pressured her into a sexual act, during a private massage session that occurred in December 2020, a period when Watson would have been on the Texans’ roster. Interestingly, Watson’s accuser is not represented by attorney Tony Buzbee who previously handled the cases of all 24 women. Attorney Anissah Nguyen of Universal Law Group in Houston, spoke on behalf of her client, disclosing that the woman “has been struggling” from the encounter, needed time to come forward and is now doing so “for herself and other women who have been victimized by Deshaun Watson.”

To be clear, Watson’s stance - along with his attorney Rusty Hardin - has largely been to maintain innocence with regards to every single accusation. While it’s true, that he did offer an apology of sorts, when he addressed his accusers saying that he was “truly sorry to all the women that I’ve impacted,” it wasn’t long before returning to the previous denial of any culpability. Especially, when it became clear that some form of suspension was imminent.

That suspension was initially set at six games by the league, but would later be increased to 11 and accompanied by a fine of $5 million for “violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy.” Watson is also required to attend counseling for what commissioner Roger Goddell called “egregious” and “predatory” behavior. As for where things stand right now, Watson is yet to face any criminal charges as a result of the allegations and where his newest accuser is concerned, Nguyen explained that her client is only seeking a resolution to the case that is “just and expeditious.”
