Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice has released an Instagram statement confirming that he was involved in a traffic collision in recent days.

Over the weekend footage online purported to show Rice leaving one of the vehicles shortly after the incident, not checking on the well-being of others involved in the crash. On Wednesday Dallas Police Investigators confirmed that they had spoken to legal counsel in relation to the matter.

Later that day Rashee Rice released the following statement on Instagram.

In the statement Rice confirms that he has met with the Dallas Police Department. He has been implicated in a six-vehicle crash in Dallas on Sunday, 30 March, involving his Lambourghini Urus. The Chiefs’ star issued an apology to “everyone impacted in Saturday’s accident.”

Has Rashee Rice been arrested?

Royce West, Rice’s attorney, had previously confirmed that Rice was cooperating with local authorities in the aftermath of the incident. West added that the 23-year-old “will take all necessary steps to address this situation responsibly.” Law enforcement has not arrested Rashee Rice, he attended the police station voluntarily

Rice recorded a very impressive first season in NFL in 2023, winning the Super Bowl with Kansas City and breaking the league record for the most post-season receptions made by a rookie.

The Chiefs have not yet commented on Rice’s involvement in the incident and will likely await the outcome of the police investigation before making a full statement. On Monday Chiefs president Mark Donovan said that the team will “gather the facts and we’ll react accordingly.” The NFL is said to be monitoring the situation.
