The anticipation surrounding the 7-time Super Bowl winner’s broadcasting debut is immense, to say the least, but what does he hope for as he begins a new journey?

Update:

Love him or hate him, Tom Brady draws a crowd and that’s exactly what FOX Sports was banking on when they agreed to a deal with the legendary quarterback, that will see him join the network’s NFL show for the coming season. Needless to say, the excitement in the NFL world is palpable.

Tom Brady hopes fans will see his ‘love of the game’

You’d have to be living under a rock to not know that Tom Brady’s broadcasting debut for Fox Sports will take place this weekend. Indeed, so widespread has the coverage of Brady’s first game been that many have wondered if it will live up to the hype. To that end, the network itself has been promoting its newest employee at every turn including a rather interesting appearance on Fox 5 NY alongside Curt Menefee. In a short clip - see below - that was released on Menefee’s X account, Brady spoke directly to his own hopes for the debut, and in a word, we could describe them as sincere.

“How do I understand the mechanics of broadcasting and network television?” Brady said. “As I’ve kind of worked my way through that process, it has come back to just be myself. To clearly see what I see on the field. And then what people hopefully will see is my love of the game.”

Now, it would be fair to say that Brady’s love for the game is not something that anyone has ever questioned. This, after all, is the same Tom Brady who couldn’t stay away from football for more than a year after retiring, as he infamously unretired to play one last time. Perhaps the bigger challenge for Brady will be conveying that love to the millions of fans who will undoubtedly be tuning in when the Dallas Cowboys take on the Cleveland Browns in their season opener on September 8th. Can he be enthusiastic in his delivery without completely crossing the ‘fanboy’ line while bringing his unquestionable knowledge of the game to the table? For the moment we can only wait and see.
